Three broad reasons against immigration that are debunked - economic, preserving one's nationality and security. While these may be legitimate concerns, they are not sufficient reasons against an open immigration policy. 

These views are mainly from an essay by London School of Economics Professor Chandran Kukathas taken from the book Arguing About Political Philosophy  - edited by Matt Zwolinski 2009.

In Part 2 I'll look at two main arguments Professor Kukathas puts forward in favor of an open immigration policy.
