In spite of the great deal of information on the solstices and equinoxes it is a fact that few understand their true meaning.
In the same manner that the vegetable kingdom’s operations are dependent on the seasons—times for sowing, growth, fruition, harvest, and return to dormancy, so is the life force spirit (vegetative nervous or autonomous system) in man.
One of the best kept success secrets in the world is the practice of coordinating the planning and execution of worldly and spiritual life goals around the seasons as marked by the four cardinal points of the year—the equinoxes (21st of March and September) and the solstices (21st to 24th of June and December. While the events that must take place at these times of the year proceed automatically in the vegetative and animal kingdoms, in man’s life they must be guided by special mental and spiritual efforts.
They are times for engaging in special health regimens to enable the body to harmonize with the energy changes that occur at the change of seasons marked by the equinoxes and solstices, and times for engaging in special spiritual practices that ensure that the subconscious activities that are responsible for the major events in our lives are progressing in harmony with the change in energy associated with the season. The energy that is responsible for the fruition of our major life projects do not move in a straight line. They wax strong and diminish and “die” to be reborn each year like the vegetation in nature. Flowing with this wave is a major component in guaranteeing our success.
