This show is about the terror, fear, and confusion that characterizes family violence. The term family violence can refer to many different forms of violence. The crime of family violence consists of acts forbidden by law and where the perpetrator is related to the victim. Family violence is a reality today just has it has been for most of human time. We have not progressed as far as most people believe. Family violence is also a crime. Victims come from every walk of life. They are both men and women. Dating partners are battered and raped. Lesbian and gay male domestic partners may be threatened and beaten. Children and spouses victimize the older adults who live with them. Children are victims as well through being physically abused and sexually molested by the adults with whom they live or are related to. In this show we are going to examine the cultural and historical aspects of abuse within the family.
