OEF Veteran and Founder of www.theptsdretreat.org interviewed Jack DeVaney Father of Wounded Warrior Army Spc. Tyler DeVaney.
Jack served in the Army from 1975-78 and spent 31 months in West Germany assigned to the non-conventional weapon security program. When he left the Army in 1978 he had attained the rank of Sergeant. He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Health Corporation based in Lewisville, Texas.
Army Spc. Tyler DeVaney, a 2006 graduate of Queensbury High School, was preparing to go on patrol in the Jalrayz District in eastern Afghanistan on the morning of March 11. As DeVaney and other members of his combat team stood ready to head out, a man in an Afghan National Security Forces uniform climbed on a truck and started firing a machine gun at the soldiers, wounding 10, including DeVaney, and killing two, including one of his friends.
