Wapajea, formally known as Nataska Humminbird, is Choctaw, Creek and African American. She is a singer, song writer, poet, performer, playwright, artist, crafter and healer. Last year Wapajea was diagnosed with a serious health condition. Her doctor suggested that she go to a warm climate to get well. Her health and her life was on the line and she had to make a tough decision. What about her children, grandchildren, her healing work, the music projects? Wapajea moved to Hawaii and ended up living in the rain forest. The beauty of the lush forest is where she experienced the power of Spirit and the healing energies of Mother Earth. Wapajea takes us on her healing journey through her poetry, music and shares her story. Join us in our Indigenous Circle.
