How we see ourselves with Dr. Rosell Jenkins

Dr. Jenkins provides Mental Wellness Services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and she specializes in parent training, women’s issues, anger management, and fostering healthy interpersonal relationships.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.  She completed her clinical internship at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) in Palo Alto, California and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas M.D Anderson Cancer Center.  Dr. Jenkins’ areas of research have focused on factors that impact use of violence against women and quality of life issues, particularly sexual functioning, in breast, colon, and prostate cancer survivors.  Additionally, she has authored and co-authored scholarly articles in the areas of quality of life in cancer survivors and health services for underserved populations.

Dr. Jenkins conducts workshops and training programs for schools, professionals, parents, and community organizations focusing on responsible use of technology, practicing intentional joy, anger management training, diversity, and a variety of other topics. She also leads adult groups focusing on interpersonal issues and life transitions.  In addition, she teaches mindfulness and capturing joy in the moment.   Dr. Jenkins has also been a featured guest, addressing family violence, on the Houston radio station KPFT 90.1.  Most recently, she has offered workshops and retreats geared towards helping women live more authentic and passionate lives.
