Lawrence, KS (Evans Media Group) September 9, 2011 - National, state and local officials and many families of fallen warriors will gather Monday morning on the south steps of the Capitol building in Topeka for a press conference to reveal the city chosen as the permanent home for the American Fallen Warrior Memorial. According to the founders of the American Fallen Warrior Memorial Foundation, a multi-city search for the final destination for the $30 million living memorial to honor fallen warriors recently came to a close and several Kansan cities were semifinalists, with Emporia, Kan., and Kansas City, Kan., making it to the finals.
