    Vernon J. Geberth is a retired Lieutenant-Commander of the New York City Police Department with over 40 years of law enforcement experience. He retired as the Commanding Officer of the Bronx Homicide Task Force, which handled over 400 murder investigations a year. During his career he was a Detective, a Precinct Detective Squad Commander, Temporary Commander of the 7th Homicide Zone in the South Bronx and Commander of Bronx Homicide. He has personally investigated, supervised, assessed and consulted on over eight thousand death investigations. Commander Geberth has been the recipient of more than 60 awards for bravery and exceptional police work and is a member of the Honor Legion of the City of New York Police Department. Commander Geberth has a Master’s Degree of Professional Studies (M.P.S.) C.W. Post College, Long Island University and a second Master’s of Science Degree in Psychology (M.S.), California Coast University, Santa Ana, California. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York and he is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia 119th Session, (1979). Commander Geberth is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). In addition, Commander Geberth has appeared in numerous local, national and international television programs answering questions on the subject of murder, and providing insight, analysis and commentary with respect to all aspects of homicide and death investigations. Geberth has been referenced as a media consultant on a myriad of national major cases across the United States and Canada.

    KATHY REICHS, like her character Temperance Brennan, is a forensic anthropologist, formerly for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in North Carolina and currently for the Laboratoire de sciences judiciaires et de médecine légale for the province of Quebec. A professor in the department of anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she is one of only seventy-nine forensic anthropologists ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology, is past Vice President of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and serves on the National Police Services Advisory Board in Canada. Reichs’s first book, Déja Dead, catapulted her to fame when it became a New York Times bestseller and won the 1997 Ellis Award for Best First Novel.     Sarah Krebs, Trooper & Forensic Artist

    Trooper Sarah Krebs is both a road patrol officer and a forensic artist for the Michigan State Police. She obtained her degree in Anthropology before joining the MSP. She is currently assigned to the Detroit Post. Her forensic work has helped to identify criminals and previously unidentified victims of crimes. She is trained in composite drawing, photo manipulation, Age progression and facial reconsturction from the skull. Recently, she assisted Canadian Authorities in identifying a unidentified body that had been found on the US side in Lake Erie. The body was that of a prominent missing person from the Toronto area. Trooper Krebs is currently an instructor at Michigan State University in their forensics program.

    Gerald Owens, WRAL News Anchor/Reporter and Host of NC Wanted. Gerald came to Raleigh in December 2002, from Washington, DC where he anchored the morning news for three years, and sports for one year. He currently anchors WRAL’s 10:00 news on Fox 50, and the 11:00 news on WRAL. In addition to his duties on the anchor desk, Gerald is the host of “NC Wanted.” NC Wanted is a weekly feature of wanted fugitives and unsolved crimes throughout the state. Since its inception in April of 2007, NC Wanted shows/episodes have led to the capture of 27 wanted fugitives. Gerald donates a lot of his free time to local non-profit organizations. He sits on the boards of the Wake County SPCA, Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Eastern NC, Wake Teen Medical Services, and NC VAN – North Carolina Victim Assistance Network.
