    Vernon J. Geberth is a retired Lieutenant-Commander of the New York City Police Department with over 40 years of law enforcement experience. He retired as the Commanding Officer of the Bronx Homicide Task Force, which handled over 400 murder investigations a year. During his career he was a Detective, a Precinct Detective Squad Commander, Temporary Commander of the 7th Homicide Zone in the South Bronx and Commander of Bronx Homicide. He has personally investigated, supervised, assessed and consulted on over eight thousand death investigations. Commander Geberth has been the recipient of more than 60 awards for bravery and exceptional police work and is a member of the Honor Legion of the City of New York Police Department. Commander Geberth has a Master’s Degree of Professional Studies (M.P.S.) C.W. Post College, Long Island University and a second Master’s of Science Degree in Psychology (M.S.), California Coast University, Santa Ana, California. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York and he is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia 119th Session, (1979). Commander Geberth is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). In addition, Commander Geberth has appeared in numerous local, national and international television programs answering questions on the subject of murder, and providing insight, analysis and commentary with respect to all aspects of homicide and death investigations. Geberth has been referenced as a media consultant on a myriad of national major cases across the United States and Canada.

Reichs’s first book, Déja Dead, catapulted her to fame when it became a New York Times bestseller and won the 1997 Ellis Award for Best First Novel.     Pat Wertheim, International Fingerprint Expert

    Pat Wertheim is one of the most prominent and influential latent print examiners in the latent print community. He worked for Lightning Powder as an instructor of identification and crime scene courses, as well as being their Vice President. In 1999, Mr. Wertheim founded "Forensic Identification Training Seminars" and has taught over 100 forensic courses. He's also written and presented over 40 educational papers and articles. He's been active in setting industry standards and has been a member of SWGFAST since 1996. Among his long list of noteworthy cases, he worked in Scotland with David Grieve in exposing the erroneous identification in the Shirley McKie case, he worked with Allen Bayle in England exposing mistakes made in the Alan McNamara case and he was a key witness for the United States Daubert hearings. This is just a brief summary of the contributions and accomplishments Pat Wertheim has brought to the latent print community. Currently he works as a latent print examiner with the Arizona DPS Crime Laboratory, where he's been employed since 1989.

    Larry Daniel - Digital Forensics Expert

    Larry E. Daniel has seven years of experience in computer forensics and has provided computer forensics and expert witness testimony in cases ranging from capital murder to exploitation of a child. Larry Daniel has been published in NC Jury View and is currently writing a series of five articles for this publication on digital forensics. Over the last seven years Larry Daniel has presented at the North Carolina Public Defenders Conference, the North Carolina - South Carolina Public Defenders Investigators Conference, the North Carolina Association of Private Investigators, and at Pembroke University's Forensics Department. Larry regularly teaches Continuing Legal Education classes in North Carolina and other states for attorneys on digital forensics and discovery issues. Larry is a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners, the IEEE and the International Institute of Computer Forensics Professionals. In addition, Larry Daniel has over 27 years of experience in computer programming, IT support, computer and server maintenance, network analysis, troubleshooting and server administration. Larry spoke at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers “Making Sense of Science” Conference in Las Vegas, NV April 4, 2009, the World Association of Detectives Annual Conference in Rio De Janeiro Sept 1-4, 2009 and at the American College of Forensic Examiners National Conference in Las Vegas, NV October 14-17, 2009.
