Zen and the Art of Dying: The Film's Director Broderick Fox

    in Movies

Broderick Fox’s award-winning narrative, experimental, and documentary works present challenging, socially relevant issues through accessible, character-driven storytelling and have screened in over 50 international festivals. Fox’s last feature documentary The Skin I’m In (2012) had its world premiere at the Byron Bay International Film Festival in Australia, where he met Zenith Virago. She was an audience member who approached him after the screening, and their shared sensibilities and interests precipitated an immediate connection, leading to Fox's latest documentary, Zen and the Art of Dying.  Zenith is an activist and educator who for over 20 years has been leading Australia towards a more communal, celebratory, and creative engagement with death and dying. From her origins as a young mother in the UK, to her present day identity as a lesbian, feminist, and self-described deathwalker in the idyllic seaside town of Byron Bay, Her Zenith’s personal and professional experiences quietly challenge our core assumptions about life and dissolve our taboos around death. More information on the film and the natural death care movement.

Zen Master Jeff Kitzes Asks: "Whose Path Am I On?"

    in Entrepreneur

Are you stuck in a rut? Are you unhappy in your job? So are a majority of employees, even those who feel fortunate to have a job.

Livelihood host Marcy Rosenbaum and guest Zen Master Bon Soeng (Jeff Kitzes) discuss what you can do when you feel you’re living someone else’s plan for your life. Jeff talks about the power of looking inward to find what’s most important to you. When you can’t change the company or the boss, there are still some things you can do to find increased satisfaction at work. Your career, he suggests, can be an expression of who you are, even when your opportunities are stalled or limited.

In today's interview, Jeff talks about the power of looking inward to find the meaning in the opportunities you encounter.

He enjoys my reaction of horror as he references Donald Rumsfeld comment "You don't know what you don't know"; and my chagrin when I acknowledge that insightful remarks can come from unlikely sources. (I take some consolation that Rumsfeld stole the comment from Albert Einstein, who said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge; knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand".)

How does someone become a Zen Master?

    One experience at a time.

Meet Jeff Kitzes, Guiding Teacher at Empty Gate Zen Center in Berkley California. Also known as Zen Master Bon Soeng (which means "original nature") he is a meditation teacher, carpenter, licensed psychotherapist, writer and celebrant.

    in Current Events

Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

RYAN ROCKS IT! with COLEMAN R. BRICE, singer-songwriter-recording Artist

    in Radio

Ryan Rocks It! with friend Colie Brice Monday, November 23 RD at 5:30 PM.  I have known this awesome and multi talented Man for many years now.  I first heard Colie perform with Jason Lusardi aka Jay Walker, bass player.  Colie and Jay played together for many years in Colie's band "Folie Brice New Age Blues Experience".  I like this qote of Colie's,  "Experiences Compose the Symphony of Life", so true.   Colie has recorded over 30 something albums, some on mjajor labels with big budgets, others recorded at home DY style on indie labels.  Recording highlights range from three elaborately produced albums with Phantom's Opera which at on etime featured Michael Romeo (Symphony X) and later Karl Cochran of Ace Frehley (KISS) and Joe Lynn Turner's (Rainbow, Deep Purple, Yngwie Malmsteen).  Colie will tell you that he was stubbornly persistent in pursuing a big time music carer, but after tripping out at a Grateful Dead Show, he started pursuing a more personal creative direction he called the "LUNA MUSE" principle and started branding his own kind of music he loosely called New Age Blues.  To that end, in 1997, Colie's Solo debut New Age Blues was accepted in teh 40 TH Annyual Gramy Nomination  Entry List in several cataegories including Top Instrumental for "17G (Tribute to Jerry."

As a stage musician, Colie has performed at diverse venues ranging from The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, to the Roxy Theater in Hollywood, California and many points inbetween.  Colie shared the bill with an scletic variety of notable acts such as Dick Dale, Layonne Homes ( Jon Bon Jovi Solo Band), Juggling Suns, Tony Levin, Dick Manitoba, Marshall Tucker, Skid Row, Jill Sobule and Southside and the Asbury Jukes among many others.

Please go to my fb page for mor information on Colie Brice.

Armed & Fabulous : Episode 14 | Cisheterocollectivist Safe Space

    in Gardening

Conservatives in Texas are tripping over themselves to figure out a way to argue that migrants should be denied gun rights under their state's liberal ownership laws. We condemn their bigotry as irrational and repugnant - Freedom is for EVERYBODY, even brown people. Today we'll pick up where we left off last week and dig deeper into this dark weird world where bigotry attempts to create safe space for middle class white cisgender heterosexual christians and throw everybody else in a cultural gulag - all while trumpeting their commitment to "freedom".

Get Real! with Mark and Kally - Cross the Great Wall of China Without Tripping

    in Lifestyle

How to Cross Over the Great Wall of China Without Tripping.  Do's and Don'ts Interacting with Your Chinese Friends.

Angela will be joining us to explain what she has learned about the cultural differences between China and America after living in China for 5 years.   Don't be offended if your Chinese friends are late for dinner, it is very common in China.  They even wear slippers in the summer.

Many Chinese travel to America.  You might find yourself going on vacation in China.  You may even find you have a Chinese neighbour.  These tips will help you not trip interacting with the people from China you run into.

Traveing to China is an amazing trip.  The people and the scenery are amazing.  Once you get to China, it is an inexpensive country to travel in for food, lodging and tourism.  And there are even companies that will pay you to travel in exchange for teaching a few English classes.

Angela Efros has spent 5 years living in China.  While there she has become fluent in both spoken and writen Mandarin.  She has traveled all over China performing privately and on television.  She teaches English in classrooms and summer camps.  She is in her final year school in China, working on a masters in Chinese Tourism, all in Mandarin.

    Thanks for tuning in!

Sound Healing Frequencies for Peace and Health

    in Current Events

Are you listening to music and hoping to feel a sense of balance in your body but just can't quite find it?  Is meditation a practice that you just can't seem to get a handle on?  Just how do people find that 'Zen' place inside themselves?  Perhaps you can listen to a healing frequency and allow your body to find its own way to healing rather than demanding it look like you want it to.

Ted Winslow is the leader in the field of Sound Healing with his recordings being top hits on Amazon.  His extensive sound healing research through Electrophotonic Imaging Testing, where he works with the effects of sound on the Human Energy Field which has validated his trademarked sound healing technology -- SOUNDSYNCTECH.

His recordings are like nothing else you have listened to.  You can play them in the background, listen with head phones or just sit with the sounds surrounding your being.  Please enjoy, I have.

Ted's work can be found on his website and there is also a show special code 'radio' for the Angelic Sound Healing ;  www.TedWinslow.com
