Waco vs. Baltimore: No Tanks? No Tear Gas? Not Thugs?

    in Current Events

In light of the gunfire and deaths that occurred in Waco, those on social media have noticed discrepancies between the way the media depicts the bikers and the way they portrayed the Baltimore protesters.  Furthermore, arrested bikers were allowed to sit while being detained on the scene without handcuffs, and full use of their cellphones.   Is it a wonder why some would feel that the predominately white biker gang received different treatment than black protestors in Baltimore?  Where were the tanks, and tear gas; and why weren’t these bikers referred to as thugs?

Join the Real World News Radio team as they sit down to discuss the disparaging difference between the treatment of the Waco Biker Gang and the Baltimore protesters.

Real World Politics - ObamaCare: Controversial Healthcare

    in Politics

The Affordable Care Act 2010 (ObamaCare) put consumers in charge of their health care. Under the law, a new “Patient’s Bill of Rights” gives the American people the stability and flexibility they need to make informed choices about their health.

Some of the key components of this Healthcare Act:

Ends Pre-Existing Condition Exclusions for Children under age 19 due to a pre-existing condition.
Keeps Young Adults under age 26, covered
    Ends Lifetime Limits on Coverage
Helps You Get the Most from Your Premium Dollars: Your premium dollars must be spent primarily on health care – not administrative costs.
Covers Preventive Care at No Cost to You
Protects Your Choice of Doctors: Choose the primary care doctor you want from your plan’s network.
Removes Insurance Company Barriers to Emergency Services: You can seek emergency care at a hospital outside of your health plan’s network.

Sounds pretty good, right?  So, why were Republican members of Congress fighting so hard to repeal this law?

On this episode of Real World Politics, you’ll learn more about the most controversial law of President Obama’s presidential career.

Join us on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 5:00pm PST/ 7:00pm CST/ 8:00pm EST, to discuss what a lot of Americans feel about “ObamaCare”.
