Today we have so much going on in our lives that require our attention. However, how do we do it in a way that is not insulting? How do we handle the new normal? What is the best way to handle a text invite, text breakup? These are some of the questions we would like to know more about and etiquette blogger Yvonne Durant (one half of Yvonne & Yvette Etiquette) will join us to guide us on the proper ways to handle todays social dilemmas.
Join us. I will be taking notes.
Our Program today willl speak on Gentrification in our communities and how we have to band together to keep from being forced out of our homes and apartments. We will also discuss the conflict the president is facing in this upcoming battle with ISIS. It goes without saying that the GOP Congress will do all they can to defeat his plans even at the sake of losing the war. It the beginning of the Iraq War, I sat mesmerized in front of my television as I watched the bombs blowing up over the city of Baghdad. It was like a television series, and I could only imagine the lost lives in the random explosions. The Bush Administration alled it Shock and Awe, but the U.S. has never implemented such devastation for no reason at all before that. Now as we are being thretened and challenged by ISIS, we are finding that the Pro-Syrian fighters we are planning to train are being swept up and aligned with ISIS. The Congress is still twiddling their thumbs in order to watch as Obama fails.
The Company you keep determines you. It is sometimes better to be alone than to be caught up in the wrong company. Wheter a boyfriend, of associates in the park. Tell me who your best friends are and I will tell you who you are. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve.
Urgent message for this Mess age. Ms. Katherine Garry is crying out for Homeowners and tenants in teh Village of Hempstead to protect yourself and come out to fight against high taxes, and fight against unfair rents and fight against your community crumbling under your feet with Gentrification from Urban Developers taking over the community. Baylan Megino asks a blunt question on this episode of WLCN Conversations on Advocacy Tuesday: How does Climate Change Communities, and is that Change Forever? What can we do in our communities
Women Leading Change Now CEO and Co-Founder, Yvonne Gamble discusses the devastating climate changes taking place and the grim outlook for the possibility of reversing the effects of climate change on our world.
The conversation will talk about the upcoming WOMEN LEADING CHANGE NOW September 16th online viewing and discussion of the DISRUPTION: CLIMATE CHANGE film as it takes us behind-the-scenes of the efforts to organize the largest climate rally in the history of the planet during the U.N. World Climate Summit in New York on September 21st.
As the conversation goes deeper the film will be discussed further and it will become evident that "This is the story of our unique moment in history. We are living through an age of tipping points and rapid social and planetary change. We're the first generation to feel the impacts of climate disruption, and the last generation that can do something about it. The film enlarges the issue beyond climate impacts and makes a compelling call for bold action that is strong enough to tip the balance to build a clean energy future."
