The Young Media Critics conclude their 3 part series on the Language of Persuasion!
We shared with you the goal of most media messages is to persuade the audience to believe or do something. Hollywood movies use expensive special effects to make us believe that what we’re seeing is real. News stories use several techniques – such as direct quotation of identified sources – to make us believe that the story is accurate.
The media messages most concerned with persuading us are found in advertising, public relations and advocacy. Commercial advertising tries to persuade us to buy a product or service. Public relations (PR) "sells" us a positive image of a corporation, government or organization. Politicians and advocacy groups (groups that support a particular belief, point of view, policy, or action) try to persuade us to vote for or support them, using ads, speeches, newsletters, websites, and other means.
Join the Young Media Critics on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at 5 p.m. for the last examples of the more advanced persuasion techniques use by advertisers, PR firms and Political strategists! Call in at 347-633-9114 or join us in the chat room.
My Rays of Light Radio, with hosts LM Young and Nadiyah, presents "Loving Me"...Tuesday at 10PM est 07/29/14.
Feel free to listen in online or call in and speak with our hosts at 646-564-9708.
It is so important that we realize that it is perfectly okay to love ourselves. We live in a world that not only discorages this, but they do their best to help us with this negative way of thinking. Their are entire groups of people who criticize the shade of skin...within their own race....we must put an end to this madness. It is time that we come together, as people, and amrace one another...while embracing ourselves.
This promises to be a show filled with valuable information and insight.
We look forward to speaking with you!!!
Shalom again everyone. Hope y'all ready for part II of last nights explosive discussion. A young Puerto Rican male named Angel Ramirez did a video and posted it to his FB page explaining why he loves Black women and why a lot of young Black females today (no longer) want Black males as partners for mating or marriage. Will play his clip and others as well as telling my own story of what I call the ultimate BETRAYAL. Betrayal of thousands of impregnanted indigenous Black women (not bi racials) by Black men, males and Black Fathers spanning several generations that simply has resulted in what we see happening today. I'm asking females who have decided to no longer date Black males to courageously call in and offer the 9Mind Sacred Sisterhood your explaination on why you made this choice. This is not about judging anyone. But I started this show so that (we) the north American Black indigenous woman could finally tell our own story. In this European gentile world of male Patriarchy. Women are seen as the fault for every occassion and situation. Which has led to our relationships with our own men to turn into soemthing out a nightmare that we seem to not be able to wake up from. Come let us here from our elder sisters and our younger sisters why Black men and males are NO LONGER WORTHY of our love and affection. Will be playing some great audio clips so get ready for an informative and awesome show. Thanks for listening to the show and dont forget to hit the FOLLOW icon so you will receive a notice when I do my shows. Tell your sister friends and don't forget to stop by the 9Mind Sacred Community FB page and check out all the great post and comments. I can be reached by blogtalk and by FB. https://www.facebook.com/9MINDsacredBlacksisterhood

As many of you now know, my friend and huge supporter of RHeart Raven Beauty passed away on Friday much to my surprise. She has been such an inspiration to me and for so many, that I feel I want to honor her life and those she touched. She helped so many, even as she was going through the horrific treatments for Angiosarcoma, she felt it was important to share it for those who would have to deal with it even after she's gone. I think she's probably the strongest person I have ever known and because of these reasons, RHeart will pay tribute to Raven Beauty.

Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Act 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Join us Tuesday night July 29, 2014 at 9pm eastern as we welcome River Gibbs from Kentucky to the show! River is a young bigfoot researcher who has been logging some hours out in the field. His interest in the subject started when he was only 10 years old. He believes that a scientific discovery is just around the corner. River has been very vocal about research techniques and the scientific approach that should be taken. He is very outspoken about the use of vocalizations and how the method is not a scientific approach. How is River's approach different? What evidence has he found thus far? And what fascinating stories does he have to tell? Tune in to find out!
