State of the Young Black Man 2016

    in Motivation

It's our second annual State of the Young Black Man address with Entrepreneur Marquis Coates and Young Activist Caleb Jackson.

If your not a young man, this will be a most enlivening, informational, and engaging address for your little brother, nephew, and any parents of young men.

How do we show them that school is not a right now job, but the foundation of your future? How do we keep them in school?

Despite making up just 13% of the population, blacks commit around half of homicides in the United States. Where do we start? Turning criminals into students and upstanding citizens sounds like an impossible charge.. but it's possible; we have to believe it is, but how? How is it possible?

Also, how do we become better young black fathers, realistically and perceptionally?

Entrepreneur Marquis Coates and Young Activist Caleb Jackson will be rejoining us for a compelling panel discussion!

All A's for these Young Warriors Battling HIV in School!

    in Health

    ABOUT THE SHOW

It is a known fact the USA gets a big fat “F” for poor sex education in schools! Let’s face it, the CDC states that 1 out of every 4 new HIV infections reported is a young human life between the ages of 13 and 24! Regardless of your beliefs in sex education (abstinence only or more comprehensive approaches) this nation is facing a serious public health crisis and something has to be done about it! So we are bringing to you two amazing  young high school leaders who are paving the way for HIV prevention and awareness in their high school! Attention school administrators and educators across the nation: you might just learn something and start an HIV Awareness Club in your school! We will talk about issues facing teens and we will offer some profound, successful solutions! So get ready! Pack your lunch (or in this case dinner) and join us on February 7, 2016 - 9 PM (EST) / 8 PM (CST), because we are all going back to school!

    ABOUT OUR GUESTS

Ewuraba Annan and Jimmy Demiro are the co-Presidents of the Staten Island Technical High School HIV/AIDS Awareness Club! Under their dedicated leadership, the members of this club work to educate students about safer sex, while simultaneously working to eradicate HIV-related stigma! Every year they are tasked with bringing in speakers who are living with HIV to share personal experiences. These students, while on their way out to college to continue their mission to empower youth to make healthier life choices, will share their experiences as co-Presidents of their school’s HIV Awareness club, share their insight about what’s really happening “behind closed doors” and what they believe are the solutions needed to change the public health crisis of HIV.

Super Bowl highlights and I don't mean plays! - NARAL the lunatics!

    in Pop Culture

Hr1    Super Bowl? I don't do sports... sorry.

U.S. Representative Mia Love introduces the "one subject bill" try to stop corruption!.

New Hampshire correspondent and political junkie, Kimberly Morin, joins Joe to discuss the upcoming New Hampshire primary.

Hr2    Tip toeing through the minefield of a college classroom. "Husband," "wife," "mom" and "dad" are all taboo. Don't bother uttering them or you'll get the boot and your grade will suffer. Free speech is no more.

David Bego, author of Devil at our Doorstep, says we need a president who understands business and free enterprise. The unions also flex their muscle with media networks. They had Glenn Beck removed from Fox. And they were probably instrumental in making sure Scott Walker got no talk time in the debates.

Unions are losing marketshare b/c people are waking up to the fact that unions aren't for them!.

One of the reasons wages have not increased is because illegals paid under the table drive wages down.

Hr3   Former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright says there's a special place in hell for women who don't support each other, referencing Hillary Clinton. As if that's going to entice young women to vote for Hillary??

Young women voters in New Hampshire did not care that Hillary Clinton could be the first woman president OMG!

Nate Imhoff talks Super Bowl wrap up! If we could get as many people to vote as they got to watch the Super Bowl, that would be great.

Some people try to turn Super Bowl ads into political statements that they were never intended to be. Now pro-choice group NARAL is calling for a boycott of Doritos for humanizing fetuses. And the transgender community is mad at Snickers.

Police Brutality: It's not all Black and White

    in US Government

Some say, "what you don't know, can't hurt you." Do you know your rights? What should you do if you are ever stopped or approached by a law enforcement officer? Racial tension is growing in America largely because of the media coverage of black males being killed by white police officers. However, there is more to the story than us outsiders actually know...until now!

Join host Tammy Gaitor and co-host Rodney Jordan as the Butterfly Evolution show welcomes Retired Police Chief Robert Moore for a "not to be missed" episode Monday, February 8, 2016. From the cotton fields of Mississippi to a presidential appointment by former United States president, Bill Clinton, Chief Moore served as the U.S. Marshal for the central district of Illinois. After a successful tenure, he returned to Jackson, Mississippi as the Chief of Police. Little did he know, he would have to fire an officer his first day on the job. "We know that there are bad cops patrolling your neighborhoods. We want them off of your streets just as bad as you do but you all are not helping us," he recently told a crowd of anxious young people at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Chief Robert Moore is the author of the new history book, "The President's Men: Black United States Marshals in America. He is also well known for his numerous published articles in police magazines covering a wide range of topics including, Strategies for Increasing Black Executives, Racial Profiling, History of the Minority Police Officers in Illinois State Police, Solving the crisis of Black Youth in America.

Set your reminders now, you do not want to miss this show!
