"Dream big and don't allow your fears to stop you from making them a reality." Danielle Walker, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, was inspired at an early age to express her feelings through writing, when she received her first diary. During that time in her life. She was writing about things that happened to her on a daily, but by reading over her entries. She found humor in the way she expressed herself. Curious when she reached middle school. Danielle tried her hand at her first short story. Which was written out of true boredom, but never realized it was a natural talent.
As a adolescent, Danielle strive to become a Corporate Lawyer. But, when she received her first intern with one of Atlanta's most prestigious law firms. She decided it wasn't something she was passionate about anymore. Taking on odd jobs until she could figure out what she wanted to do with her life. She found herself in the music industry managing an up and coming artist on the rise 'J-dro' and working with some of the industry elites, behind the scene. But, before her career soared she resigned. Because her heart still wasn't satisfied.
With life experiences taking a toll on her and her motivation to keep on pushing. Danielle picked up her pen and did what she felt came natural to her. Today Ms. Walker is the owner of 'YJLM Publishing House' and is the author of one of the best-selling books of 2014. Optimistic about the future, you can guarantee she is ready to take on her next challenge in life. One day at a time.
Imagine being in middle school, a 12 year old aspiring writer. You become brave and show your Librarian your very first full manuscript. The reaction you receive is less than supportive. Shandy Kurth was that 12 year old. I for one am thankful that she did not let this occurance stop her dreams from happening. We will touch base on how she overcame that hurdle and talk about her journey to publishing five books to date! We will discuss how this author finds time to be out in the work force, a wife, a mother and then finds the time to be an author as well.

Marta Moran Bishop, author and poet, will sit down and chat with Karen Vance Hammond about her award winning paranormal novel Shoe Marks and her inspirational story. Shoe Marks is inspired by a true story and takes us deep into the world of the paranormal. A place where anything can happen.
Adopted at birth, Karen Vance Hammond was born with an ear disfigurement, dyslexia, and learning disabilities. Unable to read or communicate well at a young age, she was removed from mainstream education due to failure and placed in a special school. Karen didn't let that hamper her love of the written word. When she learned of a woman who lived in a home that had paranormal activity, she was intrigued by the story, approached the owner and asked if she could write a novel about their lives.
While living with her own doubts she got to work. After the final manuscript was complete, she submitted Shoe Marks; to publishing companies. After countless rejection letters, Karen was loosing all hope that Shoe Marks would be published.
Not only was it published, but it went on to become an award-winning novel in the literary category. It adorns the shelves of libraries and classrooms across the world. Shoe Marks is Synegebooks best selling title in the paranormal genre and has been in the top 100-seller bracket numberous times on Amazon. Karen's second novel, Secrets in the Shallows from The Monastery Murders series, co-authored with Kimberly Brouillette has made the top 100 on Amazon twice since its debut and is now an award-winning title. Falling in love with the craft of writing, Karen is currently creating her third and fourth paranormal novels, entitled The Crossroads and The Stone.
I hope you will join us as we delve into the world of the paranormal and talk with the inspirational genius that is Karen Vance Hammond.
