Shawn K Clement
Originally from Milford, Massachusetts, Clement excelled academically; after graduation, he moved to Boston to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. In 1993 Clement first visited Los Angeles and joined a country band with a regular residency at the hottest club on the Sunset Strip, Roxbury. He played sessions with a diverse roster of musicians including Skunk Baxter, Don Johnson and Harry Dean Stanton. In 1994, he decided to live in Los Angeles full time. Arriving on January 17 -- the day of the Northridge earthquake -- he continued to write, record and perform. In 1995, his composing career moved into high gear as he wrote music for Women, a series on Showtime and scored The Savage Dragon, an animated series for Universal. Clement's credits include the acclaimed network series Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997-98). He has composed for features: A Rock and a Hard Place (Showtime) and One Way Out (Arrow Entertainment). Clement's music has also been heard on television shows Entertainment Tonight, Extra Magazine, The Guiding Light, Ally McBeal, Donny and Marie, Married....With Children, Another World, Wasteland, As the World Turns, Crime & Punishment, Ray Bradbury Theatre, The Heights and California Dreams. In addition to scoring, Clement is also an accomplished songwriter. While composing for Buffy The Vampire Slayer he also created songs that have reached cult status, as evidenced by the overwhelming response from the show's aficionados on the Buffy websites. Clement's songs also add an integral musical element to his score for We Married Margo. A mastery of musical gear has won Clement endorsements from Yamaha Guitars, Cakewalk Music Software, Seymour Duncan, Dean Markley Strings, Rocktron, Lexicon, EMU, Frontier Design, Peavey and Nemesys. He has been featured in full-page ads in Mix, Keyboard, EQ and Recording magazines to promote gear for Frontier Designs.
Tonight we have Van Roldan with Albert's Adventure lnn in Burnsville, North Carolina. In our quest for the best of motorcycle adventure lodging we found this little gem located on NC Hwy80 near the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you appreciate oldschool hospitality you will want to listen in to learn about what makes Albert's a "must stay" when you are touring the backroads of Western North Carolina.
Then it's onto our feature segment with Michael Walshaw of BritKit LLC, exclusive distributors of Kriega luggage. Kriega utilizes the best materials and manufacturing processes to deliver outstanding luggage solutions and equipment made solely for motorcyclists. In addition to his association with Kriega, Michael has a long history in public relations and support roles with IOM TT, MotoGP, World and British Superbike teams.
While motels and luggage doesn't sound all that sexy, we guarantee that you will come away from tonight's episode entertained and armed with new knowledge to enhance your sport touring experience.
A rebroadcast of an earlier KoolAid. It's entertaining enough.
Music was always a part of TREVOR JOHNSON’s life growing up on a farm in Manitoba. Singing along to the tractor's crackling AM radio stations always helped pass the time as he worked out in the field. Everywhere he had to get to was always a distance to go so cassettes and eventually CDs helped the miles go by faster. On his playlist? Lots of AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Northern Pikes and even Vanilla Ice.
In his early twenties, he picked up his Dad's old out of tune guitar and was determined to play it no matter how hard it's well-worn condition made it to play. When he finally broke down and spent a couple hundred bucks on a cheap Yamaha acoustic guitar from Mother's Music, he wished he had done that months earlier! When he overcame his stage fright and performed Love Me by Collin Raye at a small town charity event, the reaction he received from the crowd surprised him. From then on, he was asked to perform at various events in the community.
In 2009, Trevor made the move to Nashville - after many visits - to immerse himself in songwriting. Eventually, he moved back home to Manitoba where he performed around Winnipeg. In 2010, he won a QX 104 FM songwriting contest with first prize being a trip to the CMAs in Nashville.
After finishing up his EP Footsteps in the Spring of 2013 with Nashville producer Dick McVey, Trevor has been busy performing wherever he can. After receiving positive feedback from this first project, he decided to head back to the studio in early 2014. This time he recorded in Calgary with 2013 Western Canadian Recording Engineer of the year, Johnny Gasparic, at MCC Recording. Trevor is excited about his first release to Country radio in March 2014 called Moonshine.
