Welcome to Women Making Sense of Sex (and everything else) at 60! In this episode, join my co-host Iris Bieri and in a lively conversation about the changes that we women face after menopause and as we enter into our 60's. What makes this time unique for us?
Our bodies are changing radically and we are no longer oriented towards having children and being in relationship. We are also facing the loss of our roles as mothers, sexual partners (for some of us) wives, and for some of us we are facing retirement and or the loss of our careers. We are entering into a time when many things that we have hooked our identity on to are changing and we are faced with "now what?" and "who am I?".
Many of us feel alone in this and isolated. That is why we're talking about this! So, join us and other women in this candid open conversation about what goes on beneath the surface and feel connected to the rhythme of your natural blueprint. Nothing is wrong with you! It is just time to step fully into your changes and embrace your authenticity.
This show is also great for you younger women wondering what you have to look forward to as you move through into maturity!

This October, Franchise Interviews is featuring “Great Women Leaders in Franchising” month. We are first meeting with Susan Black-Beth. Susan is the Chief Operating Officer of Super Wash, Inc., the nation’s largest self-serve car wash franchisor, which was founded by my parents. Prior to assuming the role of COO, Susan served as Senior Vice President and Director of Franchising from the inception of the Super Wash franchise program in November, 2000. When Susan was 19 years old she bought her first Super Wash(r) car wash with my sister. Susan was featured in the January 2011 issue of Franchise Times as one of the “20 to Watch” in 2011; received the IFA’s prestigious Bonny LeVine Award for mentoring and promoting women in franchising in 2012; and am the proud recipient of the 2013 Crystal Compass given by the IFA’s Women’s Franchise Committee celebrating leadership in franchising, company and/or community.

Our guests this morning are Dr. Sabrina Quinene, Tiffany Friedman and Adrienne Slaughter.
Dr. Sabrina Quinene is a Chiropractor who recently opened up her own private practice in Redondo Beach. Her passion is providing the South Bay community with the best Chiropractic care with an emphasis on Family Wellness and Women's Health issues. In addition to Chiropractic, she has a Breast Thermography Clinic that focuses on safe early breast cancer detection.
Tiffany Friedman is the proprietor of Haute Yogi located in the North End of Manhattan Beach. Given that her mother and grandmother had dance studios, it should come as no surprise that Tiffany was dancing as soon as she could walk. Dancing led to gymnastics which led to a professional career as an entertainer. She discovered Bikram Yoga and found that it facilitated her varied physical pursuits - including triathlons - and helped during rehab when she had injuries.
Adrienne Slaughter, an active Hermosa Beach resident, is a 2-time cancer survivor and has been an inspirational speaker since she was 16 years old. With an uplifting website, www.adriennespeaking.com, today she speaks professionally and is celebrating her 5th year of being "Breast Cancer Free" and 33 1/2 years of being cured of childhood bone cancer.
We’ve done a few shows this month focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness and thought we’d squeeze one more in before the month ends and at the same time, showcase a couple of local businesses and the amazing women behind them.

Have you ever walked into a room only to forget why you went into that room? Have you ever thought to yourself, “I’m smart, but I’m no Einstein?” Think about how your life might be different if you could increase your brain power by just 5%. What if you could increase your IQ by several points or become a better problem solver?
Well, guess what?
According to research being done today, you just might be brighter than you think! Your brain, in its current state, has more capacity for learning, intelligence, and imagination than we realize. In each of us, there is the potential for a tremendous amount of unconscious perception and data-processing, which for various reasons is unengaged and seems to be beyond our normal range of consciousness.
Our guest, Dr. Win Wenger, is a pioneer in the fields of creative method, accelerated learning, brain and mind development, and political economy. He is a lecturer and the author of 55 published books, including breakthrough works like “Discovering the Obvious” and “The Einstein Factor,” which detail powerful techniques to facilitate learning, scientific discovery, and technical innovation.
