    Writing Warrior Radio Episode 3

    in Writing

Allison’s passion for words began in early childhood, she had always been fond of reading about life, love, poetry and short stories. As she matured, she challenged herself to hone her craft, exploring various story lines and navigating into the tumultuous world of adult relationships. Nothing prepared her however for her venture into Urban Literature.Allison’s first experience with Urban Lit began when she, as an avid reader received a message from one who promoted for a brand new unknown publishing company and was seeking assistance in promoting novels. Allison jumped at the chance and was soon an official Street Team/Pep Squad member of the Cartel Publications. Allison’s first venture into self publication “Broken Promises Never Mend” became available in paperback in January 2010.  An amended version of which was released June 2010 in paperback, which features a new cover. It premiered on Amazon for Kindle, as of June 2010 as well. Allison learned various lessons while putting this novel together.

Allison is currently focused on a collection of other works slated for release in 2016, under her  imprint “Full of Essence Publications”. The idea to reinvent herself came about with prayer and the desire to be so much more than she already established herself to be. In 2013, Allison Grace was signed to an independent publisher “Sevyn McCray Presents” spearheaded by Sevyn McCray and David Weaver of SBR Publications. Her novel under that imprint PrePaid Mistress debuted at number 5 on the Amazon Bestsellers list for African American women’s fiction. She followed up with the sequel Prepaid Mistress 2 and also revamped her ebook series Bitch Clique Reloaded into a full length action packed standalone. in 2015, Allison released an emotionally charged novel focusing on domestic violence and addiction entitled Blaque Widow.

Part 2: CUTV News Radio welcomes children’s author Rosemarie Kaupp

    in Books

Warrington, PA – When a parent is faced with the unbearable tragedy of losing a child, we pray that they will soon find peace and “closure.” But closure is not a valid expectation of someone who has suffered such a loss. Nothing will fill that void or heal that wound. Nothing will bring back their child.

But it is possible to move forward. It is possible to have a productive life again. Your life will never be the same, but it can be a good life.

Rosemarie Kaupp is the author of The Amberella Tales, a series of early chapter books for children. Rosemarie was inspired to write The Amberella Tales after losing her son Chris when he was only 23 years old.

“I had a decision to make,” recalls Rosemarie. “I could choose to go on with my life or let this experience destroy me. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t a straight line. But I knew it was a path that I had to follow.”

So Rosemarie began writing to help memorialize Chris’s life. She had loved reading to her son when he was little and remembered how much he enjoyed it too. She wanted to preserve her connection to him. As she wrote, Chris’s memory served as her muse. It helped her grieve, but also move forward.

“The books have been a labor of love,” says Rosemarie. “It was a huge accomplishment that brought me great peace. I have been thrilled to bring the characters to life on the pages and share them with readers.”

This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. "C.B.R." Grip Drops 2 Disc Mix Tape "Tha Take Ova"

    in Hip Hop Music

Tonight on "Championship Battle Rap" we have Hip Hop Artist Grip returning to debut his new project "Tha Take Ova". Last year on CBR we had Grip come chop it up with us and it went down in epic fashion as the phone lines were packed out with supporters and fans of Grip's and once you get to hear the man's talent and see his vision as he paints it crystal clear for you, you'll understand why he has so much support. Grip writes all his own lyrics, produces his own beats, engineers his own studio sessions; shoots, directs and edits music videos, builds recording studios, does his own graphic design and artwork, runs his own recording studio, he's basically a 1 man wrecking crew and tonight he's back to catch us up with his latest moves including his new Double Disc Mix Tape, "Tha Take Ova."

We'll be playing a few songs from each Disc as a treat to all the Grip fans waiting in anticipation for the project to officially drop on May 6th and to enlighten the listeners who have never heard Grip's music. Trust when we say "You won't be disappointed." Cutting through the beat like scissors on paper, Grip delivers a unique, raw and real flavor that is becoming more of a lost art in Hip Hop nowadays and he has taken the liberty to donate a 2 Disc Mix Tape for our listening ears.

Grip is taking over the CBR airwaves tonight both figuratively and literally! It's going down big tonight; we promise you won't wanna miss this one!
