  • Lost Girl Saved by Grace - Chanel Dionne

    in Motivation

As a speaker and a blogger Chanel Dionne unashamedly shares her journey through hardship and triumph. During her adolescence and as a young woman she faced many trials. In 2009 she found herself in a very dark place in her life and fell prey to the mind control of a pimp and was sex trafficked. After falling for his false promises of a better life and freedom she lost everything including her identity.

For 2 1/2 years she lived and breathed the "fast life" of working in the sex industry. Then in 2011 she managed to finally walk away and never go back. After leaving the industry and moving back to her hometown Chanel would still find herself unable to resist and break free from the shameful past she carried. It was not until after a suicide attempt that a co-worker slipped her note and shared with her the good news about a man named Jesus Christ that she began to start to see the light.

In 2012, she joined a local Baptist church and publicly gave her life to Christ by baptism and since that day her life has been one of total transformation. Today she serves as a true witness of Christ grace, love, and mercy. Her passion is speaking and writing about her life so light can be shed on a hurting generation. Chanel Dionne believes there is hope for ANYONE regardless of their background. She lives and serves as a personal witness to the belief that she stands on today.

On June 23, 2015 Chanel will be publishing her very first book entitled, “Lost Girl Saved By Grace” where she will share her journey to redemption with you more in depth. She also plans to use her story to enlighten the world on how close to home sex trafficking can be and to challenge the culture to rise up and to take action!

  • Leslie's Story

    in Health

In this episode, we speak with Leslie Carrington who has an unusual modality, she reduces the stress and burden on wellness practitioners that come about from staging, promoting and marketing  Wellness Workshops and Wellness Retreats. The workshops are here in NYC while the retreats are in various exotic locations such as Jamaica,a Greek island, and South America. Leslie’s interest in many forms of wellness started early in life as she was raised in Guyana, South America and would be given natural remedies from the garden to deal with any illness. Later, in the United States, she worked for 15 years as a social worker working with children and their families and found the stress to be intense. Leo Santa Cruz Proves Critics Wrong Gets it Done in Slugfest against Abner Mares

    in Sports

A raucous crowd of 13,109 at Staples Center got their money’s worth on Saturday as two Mexican warriors Leo Santa Cruz and Abner Mares went to war for the vacant WBA Super World featherweight title.

In what was billed as the biggest fight of their careers, not only were Los Angeles bragging rights on the line between the two Southern California-based Mexican immigrants, but pride, as both fighters came into their mega-clash as world champions in multiple weight classes.

Mares, 29, surprised many by going right after his adversary to start the fight, bringing reminders to the day Marvin Hagler fought Tommy Hearns back in 1985.

The action was impeccable, as both fighters never let the other have an inch, like two NASCAR drivers battling for the same spot in the dying laps, except we were just getting started.

Sacred Sunday~II Corinthians Chapter 2/A Sad Letter After a Painful Visit

    in Christianity

Welcome Listeners! We are reading...2 Corinthians: Chapter 2 Summary

      The Painful Visit

Okay, the real reason that Paul cancelled his visit to Corinth is because he didn't want to have another "painful visit." At least that's what happened the last time he stopped in Corinth. Ouch.
Apparently, there was some kind of disagreement between Paul and a male member of the Corinthian congregation. Paul doesn't go into details (we're guessing the Corinthian gossip mill has already made this news known). He also doesn't name his opponent, so we'll just call him the Offending Brother.
We don't know what happened, but we do know that what was really upsetting about the whole incident was that the Corinthians ended up siding with the Offending Brother instead of Paul. How rude!
Paul cancelled his travel plans and did what he does best—he wrote a letter. This letter made him super sad though and he cried a ton while writing it.

    The Tears Did It!

But—good news—the letter worked. Paul hears that the Corinthians have kicked the Offending Brother out of the church.
Okay, but now, Paul tells them they should work on bringing him back into the church (wait, what?). Oh, you know. Forgiveness and all that jazz.
Paul heard all this news first hand from his friend, Titus (who had been to visit Corinth). Needless to say, this made Paul very, very happy.
But really, this is all God's handiwork. He has led Paul and his fellow apostles on a victory march through the streets. God loves a parade, apparently.
Paul and his cohorts aren't like some apostles who are really just "peddlers of God's word." They're sincere and truthful. They come from God. Now that's a solid resume. Thanks to Shmoop.com
