World Vision Repents

Dr. Chaps reports on these important issues:
* A serial killer gets a sex change and then pleads "not guilty" because “she” is no longer a man.
* World Vision repents of endorsing homosexual “marriage”.
* Firefox CEO repents of supporting traditional marriage.
There are a ton of things in the news today and this week has been filled with major breaking news from the Christian ministry world.
World Vision flip flops on the homosexual marriage issue.
Some are saying to stop praying if your depressed and others are denying they have promoted Christianity and Islam as one peaceful religion.
Join us with your thoughts of the week.
Recently, the World Vision organization announced they would hire people living in same sex marriage relationships. However, they immediately reversed that decision and issued an apology to those who support them. Is this a genuine act of repentance? How should Christians now deal with the organization? We will discuss this matter. Also, a recent pro-abortion display at the University of Michigan claims that the murder of children is actually a "life-sustaining act." Should Christians allow their children to attend schools where such blasphemous acts are committed? What options do we have? These topics and a discussion on how and why should should be involved in the blogging world.
Recently I had the privilege of sitting down with John and Dody Martin, traveling artists with World Vision. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Primarily the ministry known for helping improverished communities accross the globe through child sponsorship.
In this podcast we not only discuss the advantages and importance of child sponsorship through World Vision, but also discuss broader themes concerning the Christian and poverty. How does the gospel impact the importance of orphan care? Is it even wise to give money and supplies to areas suffering under a corrupt government?
Join us this week as we discuss these issues and more!
When we feel overwhelmed by the state of our world, we can take courage. Jesus, who defeated death is still at work. Therefore our first response must be to pray. Prayer makes a difference. It works. Whenever a "World Vision" enters a community or responds to a disaster, we consistently find that God has been at work long before we arrived. He is changing hearts and responding to needs—often in miraculous ways. Prayer allows us to stand alongside the work that God is already doing.
Christian organizations are on the ground making a difference in all many places and vairous ways. Support their work. Volunteer, donate, pray, advocate for their cause. Knowing that God is at work and you are joining him can transform our attitude toward situations that might otherwise seem hopeless. Maybe we can't fix a problem all by ourselves, but we can make the situation better for someone.
My Guest is Sister Wendy Cleveland. Wendy’s ministry has given her opportunities to travel and deliver the Gospel proclaiming the Name of Jesus Christ, not only throughout the United States, but also in many countries singing in both English and Spanish. Her travels included Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Aruba, St. Vincent, and the Caribbean, appearing in many churches and concert halls. She has carried the Gospel as far as Ghana, West Africa and Nairobi, Kenya.
Wendy worked for “World Vision” a worldwide organization that supports children through their sponsorship program and has appeared in concert in various churches encouraging the body of Christ to help the hungry children around the world. Her travels led her to Guatemala where World Vision is helping to fight hunger and malnutrition.
Wendy has since embarked on two projects: The first is a classical mixture of Gospel named appropriately, “Give Him the Praise”- the second entitled “He’s Changing Me” of which the signature track she wrote. Wendy has appeared several times on Trinity Broadcasting Network in New York and Atlanta, Georgia. She has been a regular guest on WBPI- Club 36 (Comcast and Knology) in North Augusta, SC., as well as WJBF-Channel 6 (The Parade of Quartets) in Augusta, Georgia as well local churches.
