The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, from 7-8 pm ET (4-5 pm PT). The #TChat radio portion runs the first 30 minutes from 7-7:30 pm ET, followed by the #TChat Twitter chat from 7:30-8 pm ET.
Last week we talked about how data analyses can help companies understand and measure company culture, and this week we’ll extend that conversation to how to survive a poor company culture.
Of course company culture and cultural fit have a huge impact on day-to-day happiness. Being able to identify when a culture is turning bad, and what we can do about it, are obviously critical skills for managing our career happiness.
Culture originates with leadership values and the core business mission, and then flows from the people inside an organization do with all of that, and eventually with what meaning is attached to all those continuously evolving behaviors.
When the accepted collective behaviors lead to conflict and strife, we’ve got a bad culture on our hands. Lots of things that can create a bad culture, but all of them can be summed up by three factors we’re going to discuss this week on the show.
Join #TChat co-creators and hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we learn more about how to identify, survive, or leave a poor company culture with this week’s guests: Anuj Shah, Co-Founder of Traba; and Michael Flynn, Head of Marketing at Traba. Traba mentors know how companies choose candidates and walk you through the best way to tell your story for landing interviews and jobs.

Join us each week as experts help us explore issues shaping the world of work! #TChat Radio show is back live on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at 6:30 pm ET (3:30 pm PT). Immediately after, our entire community will continue the conversation on #TChat Twitter from 7-8 pm ET. Recently at this year's HR Technology Conference & Exposition, we had an amazing panel discussion about engagement - more specifically - employee energy, drive and focus, which has become the holy grail of HR and business leaders. This is true through every aspect of the talent lifecycle. By why? Most internal initiatives designed to improve the status quo haven’t moved the needle much, if at all. Now throw in "fun and games" into the engagement equation. Does creating fun team-building challenges and continuous recognition activities improve overall well-being, productivity and retention? Does it help create culture where there was none before? Join #TChat co-creators and hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we look to our new friends from the Great White North for answers: Mario Coculuzzi, Eastern Region Director for Microsoft Canada, and Dan Benoni, Co-Founder & Product Director of Officevibe, a social employee engagement platform.

There is a grassroots uprising, in Missouri, against the heir apparent GOP Speaker of the House. Missourians are sick and tired of having progressives march in lock-step with liberals. We are gonna examine every aspect of why it is time for folks to speak up and stop the progressive/liberal locomotive from running over conservative principles in the legislature. The folks from MO Leadership Project are here to outline the issues. Is this happening in your state too?
Tom Martz, of the Locke and Smith Foundation stops by to talk November ballot issues.

Hip hop is simultaneously a new and old phenomenon; the importance of sampling to the art form means that much of the culture has revolved around the idea of updating classic recordings, attitudes, and experiences for modern audiences—called "flipping" within the culture. It follows in the footsteps of earlier American musical genres such as blues, salsa, jazz, and rock and roll in having become one of the most practiced genres of music in existence worldwide, and also takes additional inspiration regularly from soul music, funk, and rhythm and blues.
