Winsor Harmon (Thorne, The Bold and the Beautiful)

    in Television

A self-admitted "good ol’ boy from the South, Winsor Harmon was born in Louisiana, then moved with his family to Rockwall, TX. A gifted athlete, he later attended Texas A&M University on a football scholarship, but soon became disillusioned with the "big business and politics" of college sports. Winsor quit A&M to aggressively pursue his dream of acting.

Until he could make that happen, Harmon decided to pay the bills with modeling. However, a well-known agency in Dallas not only turned him down because of his bulky football physique (at 230 pounds!), but also predicted he would never work in that industry. To prove the naysayer wrong, Harmon downsized within months on a vegetarian diet and was immediately hired by a competing agency.

For several years, Harmon strutted on runways around the world, posed in numerous fashion magazines and appeared in several ads, most notably as The Marlboro Man.
Harmon finally scored his first acting job when he was cast as Del on ALL MY CHILDREN. After that gig ended, he co-starred on ACAPULCO H.E.A.T. with John McCook (Eric, B&B), who rhapsodized about his current daytime role. Harmon would later become McCook's TV son when he took over the part of Thorne. In his spare time, Harmon enjoys sports, martial arts, riding motorcycles, writing, and singing country music.

    St Louis 2015 Family Runion

    in Culture

“The history of our families is entwined just as a piece of cloth is woven. Our parents and fore parents were all bound together by birth families and marriage into others, but we are all bound by bloodlines that make us all related to one another. These families all lived in towns and communities that surround each other. Some of the town names are Warren, Banks, Pleasant Hill, Gravel Ridge, Childs, Green Chapel, Hard Shell, Jersey, Hermitage, Johnsville, Morobay, Palestine, Mt. Olive, Vicks, Hampton, and Harrell. Some of the names of families who lived in those communities are Hampton, Davis, Belin, Hall, Tatum, Johnson, Lovett, Strong, Wilson, Pickett, Webbs, Phifer, Fall, Green, Momon, Trotter, Newton, Wheeler, Jones, Henry, Harmon, Childs, Woods, Boswells, and Gardner.“  Kathleen Hampton-Lee (from her Histories of Families 1800-1992 in the 1992 Milwaukee, WI Family Reunion)

To those who traveled far and wide or just down the street, the Families welcome you to St Louis 2015 Family Reunion. Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey RETURNS - with the extraordinary James Lloyd!

    in Music

Let's face it - we've all been gaga over Pieces of a Dream for DECADES!  So many of us bless the day that drummer Curtis Harmon and bassist Cedric Napoleon got together with our gifted guest: the amazing keyboardist, James Lloyd.  If you can believe it, that was circa 1976!  Teenagers in Philadelphia, this trio rocked the tri-state area.  The name originated from a cover tune by Stanley Turrentine.  The guys thought "Pieces of a Dream" would also fit the image that they were creating in the City of Brotherly Love.

WRTI, Temple University's radio station, supported the group's efforts.  So did a local saxophonist who had cultivated a HUGE name of his own.  Grover Washington, Jr., was taken with Pieces when he saw them on a local TV show called "City Lights." Pretty groovy when you're THAT young and in the House Band for artists passing through town :)  When this buzzworthy musical unit made their way to the respected Bijou in Philly, Grover made it a point to sit in with them.  AND he formed a production company, announcing that POAD would be his first act.  Whew!

James has been associated with his group for so long that we might forget that he has his own identity.  He has written, co-written and/or produced for a LONG time.  Ask Hiroshima or Najee what they think of James Lloyd!  He has strong memories of being involved in superlative projects, too - including albums by Phyllis Hyman and Ornette Coleman.

Piano lessons at six, classically trained and loving Jazz at age 12.  There's a whole lot more wrapped up in that man's soul - after all, he IS from Philly!  Listen to the beautiful colors on "Here We Go", released recently on Shanachie.  We'll talk about his work AND his appearance - with Pieces - at the DuPont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival!  Join us on 6/16!

"Bigotry, Islamaphobia, Media Lies and War" on "I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee"

    in Politics

The bigotry and Islamaphobia that is spun by Mainstream Media and our elected officials continues to drive wedges in our communities and fuel the Military Industrial Complex.  The duplicity of decades of horrid foreign policy  has the Middle East upside down. Add the Israel propaganda machine and we have chaos.  Human rights' abuses are commonplace and bigotry is seen in this country every day. Mnar Muhawesh is Founder and Editor in Chief of MintPress News. Ms.Muhawesh is also a regular speaker on responsible journalism, sexism, neoconservatives within the media and journalism start-ups. Isa Hodge is a Muslim American activist fighting for the rights of all Americans and the preservation of the constitution.  He was the organizer of the Million American March Against Fear in D.C. on 9/11/2013. Isa was on Fox’s The Five, Sean Hannity, and Jennie Pierro show. Isa has had articles written about him in the Washington Post, US world News, and by Mark Harmon, White House Correspondent. Mnar and Isa shed light on the media lies and propaganda and discuss factually U.S. Foreign Policy, Israel, ISIS, Al Qaeda, Syria, Iran, Palestine and the Military Industrial Complex. So grab a cup of coffee and join us. Longtime Activist, Journalist, Coffee Party USA Board of Director & Radio Host, Bobby Rodrigo brings you "I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee". On Coffee Party USA Radio every Sunday Morning at 8:30AM. Advocating engagement Bobby points out the Constitution is the Rule of Law and why it should remain so. Money in Politics, the Political Party Machine, and partisan blind allegiance is on full display as he advocates against the erosion of Constitutional Protections in the name of corruption & tyranny. "If we focused on following the Constitution we would solve many of the ills of our society.”
