We will be discussing the 2015 Oscars, the Oscar-nominated classic Mr. Sadler in THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION in 1994. The film had seven nominations and no wins. We will also discuss some of his other credits that include Die Hard 2 (s5 year anniversary), the Green Mile, Iron Man 3, and recent indie films The Historian, and Deadly Crush. We are very happy to be joined by Mr. William Sadler.
Mr. Sadler co-starred in this movie as one of the main characters Heywood. We will be discussing this timeless classic. We are going to honor this film during Oscar monht, oddly in 1994, although up for seven Oscars The Shwshank Redemption received none thanks to Forrest Gump. Arguably one of the most beloeved films ever made and truly the best film to capture authentic male friendship, The Shawshank Redemption is a movie I see 6-10 times a year.
On a cool, spring day in 1897, Alfred Haney left his Williamston, Michigan home to earn a day's wage. He knew his wife's peculiar behavior had become more frequent, and he had planned on her seeing the town doctor, but she assured him she was feeling much better. They would go the following day instead. When he returned home later that day, he discovered a macabre murder so bizarre that it shook the entire community to its core. His mother's severed head was set on the dinner table, adorned with a knife and fork on either side. Lying nearby was the old woman's body, soaked in kerosene and set ablaze. Screaming, Alfred Haney ran from the house in search of the law, and while neighbors tried to extinguish the smoldering, beheaded corpse, Haney's wife, Martha, removed herself to the back yard and began digging wildly with her hands. Shortly after the discovery, a sheriff's deputy arrived, taking Martha into custody and lodging her in the local jail at the village hall. Ingham County Sheriff John Rehle, known as J. J. among his constituents, arrived by train and surveyed the carnage. He and his deputy discovered the murder weapon, an axe, hidden behind some boards under the rear stoop. Rehle organized a Coroner's Inquest that was held inside the house where the old woman's body lay. In an attempt to determine her state of mind at the time of the crime, local doctors interviewed the murderess. She told them she spoke frequently with her own dead mother, and her mother had told her to kill the old woman. Over the next several days, court hearings decided her ultimate fate. A panel of three doctors was commissioned to determine her sanity. In the end, there would be no prosecution. Deemed insane, she was sentenced to the Michigan Home for the Dangerous and Criminally Insane in Ionia. What made Martha Haney snap and behead her mother-in-law? Save The Kids Radio HipHop Power Hour Commemorating Black August!
Black August originated in the California penal system to honor fallen Freedom Fighters, Jonathan Jackson, George Jackson, William Christmas, James McClain and Khatari Gaulden. Jonathan Jackson was gunned down outside the Marin County California courthouse on August 7, 1970 as he attempted to liberate three imprisoned Black Liberation Fighters: James McClain, William Christmas and Ruchell Magee. Ruchell Magee is the sole survivor of that armed liberation attempt. He is the former co-defendant of Angela Davis and has been locked down for 38 years, most of it in solitary confinement. George Jackson was assassinated by prison guards during a Black prison rebellion at San Quentin on August 21, 1971. Three prison guards were also killed during that rebellion and prison officials charged six Black and Latino prisoners with the death of those guards. These six brothers became known as the San Quentin Six.

Our weekly look at the bail bond industry. In some ways it is a bizzare industry. There are elements of law enforcement that don't like it, there are politicians that hate it, there are DA's that would lose no sleep if it went away. And of course last but not lease there is the man or woman that needs it!
Happiness however can be replaced by sadness in a heartbeat. Don't turn up for a court date, expect to have a grumpy Bail Bondsman knocking on your door.
A question I am going to ask this week is how seriously threats of death or Bodily Damage taken? Sure, most are said in the heat of the moment, but some, are cold and calculated.
I invite listeners to call in and join the conversation

Everyone has experienced heartbreak. We all have that one person we will never be able to stop thinking about no matter how hard we try. But...what if you could? That is the question that set writer/director Kryzz Gautier on the journey of creating this universe. Could technology get to the point of being able to erase heartbreak from the world?
Join us as we speak to writer/director Kryzz Gautier about this film that asks the question: What is the real price when we choose to have our memories altered or changed?

"Lighten Up!" Campaign Manager Bill Meander-Ender reads a roll call of the Offensive Department Closet Members, makes some early appointments, and improvises from there. The jump-off point will be "mitigating just how dark thing have become in the world of the United Slakes." The aspiration for the meeting is to organize a campaign to deploy "Operation Canned Laughter." ME encourages that we follow to its end an actual strategy of the Five Eyes (I, I, I, I, I) international mass surveillance coalition— Deny. Degrade. Disrupt. Deceive. ...and of course, Distract (D, D, D, D, D). And that’s the gag order.
