In today’s society, we’re seeing more and more self proclaimed “women of God/ virtuous women”, dating/having sex with thugs and known drug dealers. A great example of this trend is shown in the recent movie, “I’m in Love With a Church Girl”, starring Ja Rule. Tune into “The Dedan Tolbert Show” tonight at 9:00pm EST for a rebroadcast of our in depth analyzation of the movie and a discussion on why so many women claim to live for the Lord, yet choose men who clearly aren’t doing so. Listen 7 nights a week, 365 days a year by calling 646 200 0366 or online worldwide at www.dedantolbertshow.com... “REAL Radio that Matters.”
On this episode of the ::ANSWERS:: show, we have shifted the focus on why a woman decides to stay with her abuser to why men decide to hit women. We are not ignoring the fact that domestic violence occurs in heterosexual relationships, homosexual relationship and victims can be male or female. For this show, we focus primarily on why men hit women.
We also talk about what you can do if you find yourself in an abusive relationship, also what you can do to notice the signs of a potentially abusive relationship.
No one deserves to live in fear. No one deserves to live in shame. No one deserves to feel powerless.
We stand firmly with anyone who may be experiencing or have experienced any form of abuse in their lifetime. The ::ANSWERS show will provide clarity on this very poignant subject.
Thank you for tuning in!

With the death of Joan Rivers this week, it seems like everyone is talking about her role in shaping the world’s view of women in comedy. So what about women in comedy? Is there such a thing as “women’s humor?” Is it only funny when women mock their bodies and relationships? Are today’s female comedians different from other generations of female comics?
Prepare to discuss humor, laughs, what’s funny and how women are perceived in comedy with two guests Saturday. Sheila Moeschen is a writer and Senior Editor for I AM THAT GIRL, an organization that empowers girls and young women to healthy self-esteem and self-worth. She holds a Ph.D in Gender and Theatre Studies from Northwestern University. Sheila has been involved behind the scenes with the Women In Comedy Festival since its beginning in 2008. She is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and her work has appeared elsewhere in print and online. She lives in Boston. Elyse Schuerman is one of the producers of the Women in Comedy Festival, and between them, we should have a rousing conversation about what makes people laugh and how women fit into the comedy scene.
Join us Saturday at 11 am Pacific Time to learn more women in comedy.

Tonight we are joining the discussion started on Mr Talk about the abuse of men....
According to Ask Men....The majority of men suffer in silence in the face of emotional abuse. They feel shame, fear, and choose to ignore the abuse and live with it. The fact is that we live in a society where the abuse of men is not a mainstream concern.
But abuse is abuse and as we mobilize to combat it when the victim is a woman, we have to offer the same compassion to men. Perhaps physical abuse is not as prevalent when the perpetrator is female, but my argument is that emotional abuse is. In fact, my theory is that men suffer more from emotional abuse in relationships than women.
A man may be more prone to strike a woman or commit sexual assault on his partner, but as for emotional abuse, I think women have the edge. I have no proof to claim that a female will commit emotional abuse more than a man but my bet is that it is far more common than anyone can imagine at present.
The problem is that we never hear about it. Men are tough, strong and impervious to abuse. Maybe. But why then, do I receive a constant stream of e-mail with regard to emotional abuse? Because like it or not, it is prevalent. The key is to spot it.
