Fitness Benefits For Teens
Teens and young adults, both male and female, benefit from physical activity.
Physical activity does not need to be strenuous to be beneficial.
Moderate amounts of daily physical activity are recommended for people of all ages. This amount can be obtained in longer sessions of moderately intense activities, such as brisk walking for 30 minutes, or in shorter sessions of more intense activities, such as jogging or playing basketball for 15-20 minutes.
Greater amounts of physical activity are even more beneficial, up to a point. Excessive amounts of physical activity can lead to injuries, menstrual abnormalities, and bone weakening.
Nearly half of American youths aged 12-21 years are not vigorously active on a regular basis. About 14 percent of young people report no recent physical activity. Inactivity is more common among females (14%) than males (7%) and among black females (21%) than white females (12%).
Participation in all types of physical activity declines strikingly as age or grade in school increases.
Only 19 percent of all high school students are physically active for 20 minutes or more, five days a week, in physical education classes.
Daily enrollment in physical education classes dropped from 42 percent to 25 percent among high school students between 1991 and 1995.
Well designed school-based interventions directed at increasing physical activity in physical education classes have been shown to be effective.
Social support from family and friends has been consistently and positively related to regular physical activity.

Hebrews Chapter 11 King James Version
Here we have the total explanation of Faith, what it is, how it is ontained, and how it is used. We learn the great men of the bible used this faith for the future promise's that were in store for God's people, who took God By faith. It tell's of peoples's who had their life altered, and sometime gave their life for this faith. Living by faith is the whole sum of the matter, we walk by faith and not by sight.

In this second of three programs focusing on the July theme of FREEDOM, Jojopah discusses Freedom as a choice. And one that has to be made from the inside out. Tonight's teachings will focus on freeing oneself up from relationships, jobs, and lifestyles which are not supporting your growth, your passion and excitement for life, or who you need to be in order to walk your unique path. Guidance will be given for how to break away without transferring your pain, how to manifest support, and how to follow your "yellow brick road."
Samiyyah Saafir-Muhammad was born Jacqueline Glover in New York City in 1951. After spending her early years in foster care, moving four times before the age of three, she settled in with her aunt, following her father’s passing.
While still in elementary school Samiyyah took an interest in helping other students do well, joining “The Future Teachers’ Club” in the fifth grade. As a high school student, Samiyyah became aware her people’s struggle for freedom—witnessing civil rights demonstrations, protests, assassinations and riots—and decided she wanted to help somehow. It was in this atmosphere that she went off to Northeastern University in Boston where she majored in Education. Her stay there was short-lived, however, as she was introduced to the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and thereafter joined the Nation of Islam. Within the Nation of Islam’s Muhammad University, Samiyyah underwent educational training and worked as a teacher’s assistant.
Since 2005, Samiyyah has had the privilege of serving as the Directress at Muhammad University of Islam in Atlanta, which serves students from Pre-K to the eighth grade. She has been blessed to carry on the 84-year educational tradition, which was started by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his brave followers in the 1930’s.
A widow after 35 years of marriage, Samiyyah presently enjoys the blessing of her and her husband’s nine children: six sons and three daughters, all of whom attended or are attending HBCUs. Samiyyah has been a mother to not only her nine children, but also to her two stepchildren, her nieces and nephews, her eight grandchildren and countless other children and adults in the community who come to her for advice, wisdom and guidance. Affectionately called MamaMiyyah, Samiyyah’s house is never empty
Show yesterday was awesome. I would like to thank everyone that listened, the guest in the chat room and our caller out of Maryland, Greg. Some of what Greg said on the show yesterday got me to thinking. Especially when he said that it was not the resposibility of good Black men to check and or rid their communities of the crafty con artist type Black males. Of course this logic is shocking to me and I was wondering just how many other good Black men feel the way Greg does? Why is it that the destructive Black male is so visual and out front in Black neighborhoods while the good law abiding Black man, Fathers, Business owners ect... seem to (always) be the invisible silent types? Someone on FB even said that nobody listens to the married men. Again I want to know, Why? Has the good Black mans good reputation been used against them by their more rambunctious, minstrel cooning street wise brethren? Are responsible elite Black men out there handling their business as visualy and publically as those they claim to be the thugs, shyters, pimps and players are? It seems that Black men with all the wisdom and knowledge on how to live a civilized, drama free life are keeping those SECRETS to themselves huh? So I would like to know if this imbalance of the good Black man vs the devious ones, harming the image of Black men as a whole? Does it cause their women to see them as WEAKER. And the world to lump all of them into one box? Tonight I want Black men (only) to call in and answer these questions. ooohhhh i can't wait.
