Alan (Giants of Jazz Radio) and Jose (Jazz Con Class Radio) are very honored to have with us jazz historian, jazz journalist and author Scott Yanow. We will cover his biography in detail and then concentrate on "West Coast Jazz." We will decipher this sub-genre of "Cool Jazz" by discussing its roots and its history. We will also touch on the 60's Jazz scene in both the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. Join us, listen and/or call in!
Scott Yanow (Bio):
.....Jazz Journalist and historian. Since then, I have been involved in many projects. Being the Senior Editor for the 3rd edition of the All Music Guide For Jazz resulted in a countless number of my CD reviews and biographies being utilized throughout the internet including Pandora Radio. In addition to having written ten books so far (most recently The Jazz Singers) and writing for the Jazz Heritage Club, I have written several episodes for the popular jazz radio series Jim Cullum's Riverwalk - Live At The Landing.
I have written over 750 liner notes, hundreds of press biographies and press releases, and it has been said that I have reviewed more jazz recordings than anyone in history. I have contributed to virtually all of the major jazz magazines including Downbeat, Jazz Times, Jazziz, Cadence, Coda, The Mississippi Rag, Jazz Forum, Jazz News, The Jazz Report, Planet Jazz, Jazz Now and Jazz
Improv. These days I write regularly for Jazz Inside, Downbeat, Jazziz, Los Angeles Jazz Scene and The Jazz Rag.....Learn More

WEST UP WHEN IT'S TIME FOR WAR
On this week’s West Coast Bias we won’t have any football to talk about so we were lost as to what to discuss. Then Suave turns on the Warriors game and we realize!! There is still the amazing NBA!!! So this week we will be talking NBA as we past the half way point of the Season the boys are going to breakdown the season so far for the Warriors, Blazers, Clippers and the surprising Suns. They will also discuss the Sharks, Kings and Coyotes as they take a look at the NHL season so far for those teams. As usual we will be wrapping up the show with a Round Table Discussion. So tune in on Sunday at 8pm PST/11pm EST to West Coast Bias on the 4ACES Network on Blogtalkradio…
The Texas Rangers continue their West Coast Road Trip again as they take on AL West opponents. The guys discuss that along with the San Antonio Spurs victory in the NBA Finals over the Miami Heat in five games and the latest on the Dallas Cowboys and the rest of the NFL. The guys also hand out another much deserved Drama Queen of the Week Award.
This week on West Coast Bias we are going to continue our trip around the West Coast teams in this upcoming season. This week we are going to take a look at the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have gone out and improved this team during the offseason. They didn’t really make a lot of noise during free agency; the only big signing that they had was OT Jared Veldheer who they signed away for the Raiders. The other big move came recently when they resigned CB Patrick Peterson to a contract that made him the highest paid CB in pro football. So as you can see we will have plenty to discuss so join Double K and The Doual as they discuss the Cardinals and their chance to win this season. Tune in Sunday night at 8pm PST right here on the 4ACES Network. www.Blogtalkradio.com/fouracespresents ...
On this week’s episode of WCB the Boys will be back to business after taking the week off to prep for this week’s episode. We are going to dig into the NFL season as we all know Week 1 will be starting on Thursday with the Broncos taking on the World Champion in Denver. But we will be more focused on the 1 Week matchups of the Raiders and the 49ers. Though we will cover every West Coast team at some point during the season for now we will focus on the teams in the Bay. To open the show the boys of bias will be handing out the 1 annual WCB Preseason awards where we tell you who the best and worst of 2013 NFL Preseason. All this and another Round Table discussion you don’t want to miss on West Coast Bias on the 4ACES Network, BlogTalkRadio Sundays at 8pm PST/11pm EST…
