Today you’d call Ballantyne suburban, but back then, at the start of the summer of 1966, it was country — just a cluster of houses, some of them shacks, on or near Ballantyne Road, in the Town of Chili, NY. And while June 25 started like any other day it would end in a nightmare. In The Devil at Genesee Junction, veteran crime writer, Michael Benson, returns to his formerly rural hometown to take on the double homicide of his friends Kathy Bernhard and George-Ann Formiciola that took place that night.
The two girls were missing for a month and then found in the bushes horribly mutilated. The double homicide changed the author’s childhood suddenly, and drastically. He went from living in a rural playland, to being encased in fear, wondering who among them was the werewolf who cut up Kathy and George-Ann.
This heinous crime was never resolved, and didn’t go away. In recent years, the author has teamed up with a victim’s mom, and a local private investigator to delve deep into the 6/66 murders, developing along the way some strong new leads and shocking details. Together they have heated up this icy cold case, and their investigation has led them in a startling new direction. THE DEVIL AT GENESEE JUNCTION-Michael Benson

Pack Dynamics -
After seven horrific months as a POW, Army Ranger-turned-PI Ben Lockwood just wants a safe, boring life. With his boss on vacation, he takes what looks like an easy case of pharmaceutical espionage he can work from his desk.
Now he's caught in a three-way collision course between a ruthless werewolf on the hunt for a cure for his dying vampire wife, a mad scientist whose multinational company doesn't even research supernatural medicine--and himself. Ben's nanotech-injected blood holds the key to the vampire's recovery, and the werewolf doesn't much care if he lives or dies in the harvesting.
Ben thought he was done fighting wars when he got home from Afghanistan, but his hard-won sanity and his girlfriend's life are both at risk. He'd rather die than lose either. The battle lines are drawn in a billionaire's basement, and retreat isn't an option. No matter how outgunned he is.
Come howl at the moon with me! Lisa Kessler returns to read an excerpt from her newest release Harvest Moon, a paranormal romance with werewolves!

In hiding and on the run, nurse Kilani Akamu is a loose end that Nero is desperate to tie up. She can't afford to be attracted to a doctor-especially one as unexpectedly hot and complex as Jason. Yet the sexual sparks arcing between them are undeniable...and Kilani's precognitive senses warn her that temptation is inevitable.

Brookwater's Curse Volume OneChristian Brookwater is a former Georgia plantation slave who became a vampire during the 1860s. His long, tumultuous life takes a complicated turn when he is forced to travel to modern-day Senegal to rescue a child from a vengeful werewolf prince. It is here that Christian uncovers a plot that would throw the entire vampire nation into a civil war. To stop this, Christian must betray his best friend and mentor, an influential Italian vampire who nurtured him during his vampiric infancy.
Christian is a member of a nocturnal law enforcement community that safeguards the secrets of the creatures of the night. This involves the killing of werewolves and other deranged monsters; something Christian excels at. But his fraternization with humans and his incessant need to kill racists vexes his superiors, who threaten to execute him if he doesn’t curtail his ‘racial impulses’. Christian also suffers from a rare condition that makes intercourse with human females especially dangerous.
Christian’s other mentor is a four hundred year old vampire samurai lord who teaches him the arts of war and sacrifice, and has a knack for appearing whenever things become desperate.
Of course, the warrior’s code can’t replace the desire for love, as Christian discovers when he becomes enamored with a human female in the 1940s. Despite Christian’s affliction, the two lovers raise a child together and for a while, our vampire gets a taste of true happiness.
Some years later, his family life ends tragically as Christian loses his great love and becomes estranged from his teenaged son. Heartbroken, Christian embarks on a series of illuminating, yet sinful adventures as he migrates to a new home: Harlem, New York.
All around the world in different cultures, legends of shapeshifters are told throughout history. The more well known is lycanthropy, the ability to turn from a human to a wolf. But where did the werewolf get its start? What caused the panic in 16th Century France that caused them to hunt and execute suspected werewolves? Tune in for more plus our top 10 list!

Welcome to Weird Scenes Inside the Goldmine - your essential guide to all things wild and wonderful in the world of cult entertainment!
This week, we'll be talking El Senor Lobo himself, the legendary Jacinto Molina Alvarez, better known by his chosen nom du guerre, Paul Naschy!
Laughed at and ignored in his native Spain, former bodybuilder and professional strongman competitor Naschy pursued his childhood love of Universal horror throughout the 1970's under an oppressive fascist regime, forced to film in both sadly bowlderized "censor" versions for hometown screenings and in far superior "unclothed and bloody" international ones for the rest of us, to little acclaim.
Despite succumbing to a certain notable measure of bitterness over the years, Naschy's pulpy, naive, art brut contemporary homages to such classic horror figures as Dracula, the mummy, mad scientists, hunchbacked manservants and especially the figure of the werewolf have endeared him to generations of "monster kids" who encountered his films on such forums as WOR's Fright Night, as well as the VHS and DVD releases of numerous (though sadly far from all) of his works.
Join us as we talk devil worship, cannibals, psychotic women, mad templars, yetis, zombies, evil gurus, sinister inquisitors, vampires and of course werewolves, only here on Weird Scenes Inside the Goldmine!
