    in Health

Many Black people will agree that spanking is an accepted form of punishment in our community but most of us are in denial of the long lasting effects that severe beatings by parents can have. Child abuse in the Black community is real and it's time that we deal with that reality and get a better understanding of how it can effect our emotional development.

This is where Tanisha A. Cunningham? who is the author of the book A Rose Can't Grow In A Garden Of Weeds comes in.
On Wednesday we will review her very revealing autobiography that is sure to engage and enlighten all who follow her life story. Some of the highlights of this show will deal with:

Physical and emotional child abuse in the Black community.

Foster Care. Corruption issues, abuse, and advocacy.

Group Home violence and at risk youth labeling.

Perseverance from turmoil against all odds.

Tanisha's book is an astounding personal account of the many struggles that a young person may have to overcome just to be able to be functional in the world. There is a good chance that there is a little bit of  our story in every chapter of her work. Her story is extremely candid, easy to understand and has a very personal feel to it that almost forces the reader to feel where she is coming from and want to cheer her on. It's a great read and this Wednesday we will break it on down.

Fearmongering Corrupts! Drop Evil Communication & #SAVEUS

    in Politics Progressive

As a man thinketh he is. Constant negative talk of media and politicians spreads and negative talk turns into negative actions outside borders and at home. GOP headed by Boehner broadcast to the world their respect for leaders of other countries and in the same breathe it is made clear they have no respect for President Obama. Surely this political tactic is capable of bringing down our nation. Would it be an act of evil to pay tribute Coca Cola internationally while Pepsi pays your salary? Be not deceived: Evil communication corrupt good manners. America's communication systems shouts fearmongering, from weather, to stocks, to entertainment, to sports, to  all the fake news 24/7. Media is paid well to distribute fear and many people, who lack knowledge accepts what they hear via media as truth. People listen to what media regurgitates and people regurgitate what they just heard. Within little time and effort, regurgitated lies and backbiting takes over conservations and becomes political reality.

God's Focus is the Kingdom; Who will Enter Kingdom rescheduled 2/27 Pt. 7

    in Religion

This is a kingdom parable — (24) “The kingdom of heaven is like...”•• Jesus seeks to grow the kingdom of heaven by sowing good seed (i.e., people, “the sons of the kingdom”) in the world.

•• The devil tries to thwart kingdom growth by sowing his people (“the sons of the evil one”) among the good seed. •• Jesus will leave his mixture of God’s people and the devil’s people together until the “end of the age.”•• Then He will have the angels harvest the world — casting the “weeds ... into the fiery furnace.” And the “good-seed” people of the kingdom will “shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.”
