Homecoming 2: The Prodigals, Wayward and Lost Come Home

    in Christianity

Jesus explains the kingdom of God as a man who had a young son who asked for his inheritance NOW, took a journey away from the father who loved him and wasted his inheritance on prodigal-riotous, sensual living fulfilling every lust. But passion springs forth new passion until at last, he was consumed and found himself alone, confused, hungry LOST!

Perhaps that's YOU- party central on the surface, but dark, broken and brooding within.  Perhaps you wonder IS THERE ANYTHING MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS? Is there ANYTHING of real value? Is love real and is true love even possible for someone like me.  Join us this Sunday and find answers, find love, find hope, healing and purpose. Find HOME!

The Wayward World - Harlot or Bride

    in Christianity

Why is the world so disobedient toward God's call?  I will expose some Light on why, as we  allow the scriptures to speak to our hearts.  As Christians we need to see the world as Jesus does. "In the world according to Jesus, judgment is coming.  Tribulation is coming.  Death, hell, and eternity are ahead for those without Christ". David Jeremiah.  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come!  And let him who hears say, Come!  And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Rev 22:17

Can 10,000 Fearless Men Help 50,000 Single Mothers Raise 100,000 Boys To Manhood?

    in Women

Minister Louis Farrakhan's call for 10,000 Fearless Men to face and defeat urban violence has been interpreted by the mass media as a call to attack white people, but in reality, just like in Million Man March to Washington DC 20 years ago, the call was for internal repair of family relations, not a malicious attack on any other group of people. Men are needed to be fathers to the thousands of young black men who have been raised in fatherless homes. The question is, how do these men enter their lives and steer them toward a righteous future, when they have been so thoroughly corrupted by msguided men who have taught them to abuse women? The cycle of violence will continue unless men teach young men how to nurture women, the ones who are giving birth to the next generation. Can 10,000 men correct a culture of physical and emotional abuse of women, which leads to the creation of angry, violent children? What teachings are necessary to change the mindset of tomorrows men, and mold them into husbands and fathers who protect and provide for women, rather than "players" and "baby daddys"?  Do faith leaders play a role, or have they lost credibility in the eyes of young men because of their own scandals and hypocrisy? Where will the 10,000 fearless men come from who are ready to face wayward youth?

    A Wayward Traveler & Vagabond

    in Travel

Today on World Footprints we’ll enjoy some Wayward and hair-raising travel experiences with a true Vagabond and we’ll look at a new travel service that has gone to the dogs.

First, author and Matador Network editor Tom Gates will give us a “sample” (no pun) of a few of his personal eyebrow-raising travel stories in his new book Wayward: Fetching Tales from a Year on the Road.  Tom will share how Anthony Bourdain is responsible for his sampling of “mans best friend” and why he ended up in the pokey at Heathrow International Airport.  Those stories are just a few of what we’ll hear.

Next you’ll meet Mike Richard, founding editor of the popular website Vagabondish.com—a travel portal for the independent traveler and free spirit.  Mike absconded from corporate America to pursue his passion for travel and to help others travel wisely.

Finally, Aaron Hirschorn’s career has gone to the dogs—literally.  Aaron and his wife Karine created a new service, DogVacay.com that provides travelers with host homes that will care for their dogs while traveling.

Addressing America’s Growing Racial Divide - with guest Imam Muhammad Siddeeq

    in Lifestyle

Join WORDS MAKE PEOPLE Sunday September 13, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. EST for an exciting discussion on "Addressing America’s Growing Racial Divide: What does Islam say about retaliation" with Special Guest Imam Muhammad Siddeeq.

Call in at (714) 816-4673 and press 1 if you desire to ask question or make a BRIEF comment.

You also can listen online at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/station-iwdm/2015/09/13/addressing-americas-growing-racial-divide--with-guest-imam-muhammad-siddeeq

What are we as leaders to do and say while social media continues to capture wayward cops killing innocent civilians; unjust actions that triggered public voices to call for “retaliation”? And now we have innocent police officers being killed just for wearing their uniforms. What are we to do as leaders and what do we do as everyday Americans as we witness America’s growing racial divide fueling the killing of more Americans – numerically – and causing more harm to our country than the sins of Sept. 11, 2001?

We must not let the voices that call our youth to violent revenge to override our voices of reconciliation. But this takes serious work and dedication on our part to lay our cards on the table and speak a word of truth that addresses inequities in our American society; the regular injustices that causes despair, distrust, anger and division. Collectively we must face head-on the growing racial divide in America before the hatred grows and come full-circle resulting in more dead bodies in our streets, classrooms, theaters, churches and police cars.

These are serious community issues that we need to address. Please join us.

The Wayward Church - Your Church and the Tolerance for Sin

    in Religion

Love, love, love...  Is that the ONLY thing the Bible teaches? The twisted form of love is what many churches are caught in. The use of this word and the tolerance for sin within the church is sending our churches on a wayward path - and directing those who attend.
