Every community needs a hackerspace or two. This hot trend can easily add a low-cost, high-impact spark to a struggling neighborhood, or accelerate the economic impact of your broadband network. The hackerspace movement can even provide a pathway to affordable health insurance.
Gina Lujan, Founder of HackerLab in Sacramento, CA, explains how to easily start and maintain a viable hackerspace. You don't need much: an empty building or office space, electricity, some paint, a few tables and chairs - and a decent Internet connection, the faster the better. Invite people with good ideas, a dream and basic tech skills to bring their laptops.
Gina outlines the key to success, some do's and don't's, strategies for funding and why letting the members run the show is the secret sauce that's making hackerspaces a winner across the U.S. She also lays out the basics for making hackerspaces a major element of broadband adoption strategies, and lets listeners know about a program that enables hackerspace participants to get lop-of-the-line healthcare at affordable rates.
Dr. Gerald Pollack & Water Science Breakthroughs
Dr Gerald Pollack, at the University of Washington laboratory, have discovered that water is NOT always H2O. When touching most surfaces, water transforms itself into so-called Exclusion Zone (EZ) water, whose formula is H3O2. EZ water differs in all respects from H2O. And, there is a lot of it, everywhere.
"The Fourth Phase of Water: Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Vapor" documents this fundamental discovery and uses it to explain common everyday phenomena, which you have inevitably seen but not really understood.
The implications are vast for FREE energy, to clean water.
ENVISION THIS: Water managed locally for the good of the community, not diverted for corporate profit and big agribusiness
Our guest, Judith Jubb, represents METEMPYRION FOUNDATION, a nonprofit philanthropy sharing ideas about cooperation with the environment. "For over 20 years many of our programs have extended to the greater community. The Board elected to look into a request from a Water Clan member of the Hopi People in northern Arizona in2005. The regional draught has continued into the present and water is no longer available to plant food for people or raise livestock. This is our first venture into locating a subterranean water source adequate for a large group of people.
For the Hopi Well Project, we have relied on experts in the fields of locating and drilling water wells. The project evolved into the most complex and time consuming project we have ever endeavored. The role of Metempyrion has been as Cultural Liaison and Fundraiser. A professional water dowser took up the position of HWP Chairman and coordinated his partners with local drillers and water dowsers familiar with Arizona ecology. Many volunteers have come forward with skills and time for which we are very grateful. We wish to thank our funders and workers for your investment and interest in this shared vision. This project can not be completed without your support. There is always more to do to make a better world for everyone."

HELLO FAMILY: I'M REDOING THE SHOW IT WAS ALL CUT OFF!
Water in Toledo, Ohio, and surrounding areas remained officially undrinkable Sunday evening, more than 36 hours after a do-not-drink order went into place for 500,000 people.
Water at a Toledo treatment plant tested positive for a toxin on Saturday, leading the governor to declare a state of emergency in three counties, state officials told the Los Angeles Times.
UPDATE: Toledo's mayor lifts ban
At a Sunday morning news conference, Toledo Mayor D. Michael Collins said more results from new tests on the water would be available around noon. "This is not over yet," he said.
But noon came and went with no test results. In the evening, the Toledo Blade and other local media reported that Collins had announced that the test results would not be available until 10 p.m. local time at the earliest. A few hours later, the test results were pushed back until "at least 1:15 a.m.," a Blade reporter tweeted.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich declared a state of emergency for residents of Lucas, Wood and Fulton counties early Saturday after two water samples from a Toledo treatment plant tested positive for microcystin, a toxin possibly caused by an algae bloom in Lake Erie.
Carol Hester, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, told The Times on Sunday morning that water samples from the Collins Water Treatment Plant is still waiting for some of the results.
