    War On Terror

    in Politics Conservative

In the midst of the "phony scandals" distracting Americans, we must still ask the question - Is the "War on Terror" really over?  Is Al Qaeda on the run and a "former shell of what it was" as the President claims? What about the plight of Christians throughout the Middle East?
In light of recent events, such as Benghazi, hundreds prisoners escaping Abu Ghraib prison and US Embassy closings in the Middle East, one would have to think otherwise.
Joining us to discuss the threat of terror is Ryan Mauro of the Clarion Project.

    End The War On Terror

    in Politics Conservative

In September 2001, members of al-Qaeda managed, largely because of luck, to pull off a risky terrorist act that became by far the most destructive in history.   The peculiar trauma evoked by the attack has proven to be lasting: a recent survey revealed that more than 70 per cent of Americans believe a terrorist attack inflicting large numbers of deaths in the United States is very or somewhat likely in the near future — the same percentage as in the days following 9/11.   This has impelled a US reaction that has been substantially delusional, one massively disproportionate to the threat that al-Qaeda has actually presented, either as an international menace or an inspiration to home-grown amateurs.   As anthropologist Scott Atran has put it: “Perhaps never in the history of human conflict have so few people with so few actual means and capabilities frightened so many.”   Tonight ABC & GGT will discuss the "War On Terror" and what the side-effects and cost are.

Accompanying the US/NATO–led War of Terror abroad, we are now barraged with an ever increasing number of acts of mass violence at home, and in several different forms. This violence: physical, emotional and psychological, affects nearly everyone and is being implemented on a number of different levels to keep the masses divided and in fear. How has it come to this - and how are people reacting and responding to the horrific State-sponsored aggression that is being implemented in both overt and covert ways?

The Truth Perspective is brought to you by the SOTT Radio Network and SOTT.net, your one-stop source for independent, unbiased, alternative news and commentary on world events.

    Live every Saturday from 2-4pm EST / 11am-1pm PST / 8-10pm CET.
