"In the beginning the Word was, the Word was face to face with God, and the Word was God." John's approach to Jesus Christ is the core of Christianity. He portrays him as the wisdom of God who came to reside in humankind. There never was a moment when wisdom could be separated from personality; a man's wisdom is connected to his personality and God's wisdom is connected to His personality. God called Jesus His Son so that He could never be a philosophical abstraction--He is God the Son, second Person of the Trinity and the Word of God made flesh.
Walter Martin digs deep into the biblical identity of Jesus Christ--the Word of Life--on Night Watch.
