Star Trek fan film Producer John Broughton and cast

    in Entertainment

The King of DC Media welcomes John Broughton Excutive Producer of the Star Trek-inspired film, The Crossing, which will begin principal photography in November, and actor\writer Paul Seiber, who wrote the screenplay and plays Security Officer Prescott.

Read more about John at DC Actors Examiner.

    From the Kickstarter Page:

The Starship Farragut production is a small, independent operation where every dollar received is plowed into the quality of the production. Given the growth and evolution of this project during the course of the last 10 years, particularly the expenses associated with the Farragut Films Studio (a 10,000 SQ FT facility of free-standing Star Trek sets), the costs to also put forth the films are quite substantial. Starship Farragut's "The Crossing" is a special film that requires financing that can no longer be contemplated without the support of backers’ support.

The funds from this crowdfunding effort will be used for expenses associated with filming and post-production work with NEO f/x, who has worked with us since inception in providing CGI ship exteriors and other special effects.

2013 NFL Draft Prospect - California (PA) QB Peter Lalich

    in Sports

California (PA) senior QB Peter Lalich took little time getting back int he groove throwing four first-half touchdown passes in his first action in over a month. The Vulcans went on the beat Millersville 58-26. In just two seasons, he ranks fourth all-time in school history in passing yards and touchdown passes. Don't think that is impressive their former starting quarterback Josh Portis plays with the Seattle Seahawks.
Learn more about Lalich as he makes his path to the National Football League on the College2Pro.com Players Platform Show.

2013 NFL Draft Prospect - California (PA) OL Eric Kush

    in Sports

The biggest challenge moving forward for Kush is shaking the small school label. Stoutly built with girth Kush is an aggressive run blocker who shows ability to slide in pass protection. Versatile on the offensive line Kush appeared in nine games at left tackle in 2010 before moving to center in 2011 starting 12 games. California (PA) has produced NFL talent over the last couple years as this PSAC football program grows.

Flaming hair, kicking butt, and taking names.

    in Books

This is what Cassidy Jones is all about.  Cassidy Jones is a POWERHOUSE.  She is done with standing on the sidelines, trying to figure things out.  She is making them happen on her own.
Mind you, it took a special little formula to kick start the process, but it's not about what happens TO you.  It's what you do with the situation that makes you stand apart from the rest.
Tonight, we will be talking with Elise Stokes, the author of the Cassidy Jones series.  She will be telling us all about where this wild child came from,  I, for one, can't wait for this interview!  :)

SpokenHeard with The Klute and Host Susan Dobbe Chase

    in Poetry

The Klute (a.k.a  Bernard J. Schober, an obviously fake name) is one of Arizona’s most recgonizable voices in the slam poetry game. He has performed in every slam venue in the Copper State since 2000 and has been a member of 7 teams representing the
cities of Mesa (02, 03, 05, 06, 10) and Phoenix (08, 09) at the National Poetry Slam, making
semi finals twice, once in 05 and once in 09, and group piece finals in 08.
A Brick Cave Media artist, his poetry chapbook “My American Journey” was one of the fi rst poetry chapbooks available on Amazon.com’s Kindle. He is also the co-founder and host of “The Poe Show,” the only annual celebration of Edgar Allan Poe’s birth west of the Mississippi (now in its 9th year).

At the National Poetry Slam he is recognized as one of the Nerd Masters—a gatekeeper at the National Nerd Slam in charge of making sure the poets who attempt to perform on the stage truly have their Ewoks dotted and Vulcans crossed. You may think you “Grok” Spock, but you do NOT, sir, and I said GOOD DAY.

He has toured internationally, performing his own brand of iconoclastic poetry as part of his 2007-2008 “One Foot in the Grave” tour and in solo appearances, featuring at such legendary poetry venues as the Bowery Poetry Cafe in New York City and the Cafe Deux Soleils in Vancouver, Canada.

He’s been introduced from the dais with Republican Congressmen and performed for the president of the American Communist Party, and once read a poem in front of theWhite House to an audience of Capitol Police and Secret Service Agents.
Former Arizona Blogger Jerome du Bois once said of The Klute: “You have one of the blackest hearts I’ve ever had the misfortune to glimpse.”

He is available for funerals and children’s parties.

    Ghosts ESP - Psychic Trek

    in Entertainment

Star Trek was one of the first TV shows to deal in concepts of ghosts ESP. Enterprise had a psychic - Vulcan science officer Mr. Spock. Spock, though half human, could mind meld with aliens or sense "danger" when Vulcans were dying. Later on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Counselor Troi was a Betazoid empath. She couldn't mind read, but felt what others felt by a psychic link. Ghosts were in Gene Roddenberry's universe. In "Wolf In The Fold" - a ghost like demon - a serial killer - took over humans and possesed them. Star Trek: TNG had 'Sub Rosa' - where Dr. Beverly Crusher actually fell in love with a "ghost" - or a kind of energy being which manipulated and fed on human emotions
