Join host Dave Etter and assorted callers as we try and define what makes a good military spouse! Us guts do not have much in print on how to be that perfect partner while maintaining the standards set by the military branch we are forced to live with - so, what can we gleen from each other? This could get interesting, heated, nasty, sad, frustrating, fun.... who knows? You'll just have to listen and call in if it's during the live recording time!
MMSRS is a weekly 2-hour web-based call-in radio show (516-453-9167), hosted by Dave Etter, focusing on the needs of men married to serving military members, both men and women. Male Military Spouses are a small niche of military spouses, comprising of only 7%-8% of all military spouses. We feel left out, usually, at support functions - especially those designed with the spouses being identified as "wives"! We get cajoled at playgrounds where our kids play, from the mommies there who think we don't belong. We are proud SAHDs, who gave up our careers to follow our spouses as they dedicate thier lives to defend our country! Here, on this show, we come together and share beer recipes, diaper changing techniques, financial discoveries - manly things, for men! Typically airs Fridays at 9am CT, rated R for the cussing that can occur, and always available for download (podcast) immediately following each show.

When headlines appear featuring stories about volunteer firefighters embezzling funds from their fire department, it definitely hurts the professional reputation we work so hard to earn.
Today, public safety agencies can no longer financially manage their operations with a checkbook and a pen. State and Federal requirements, in addition to insurance requirements now place more responsibilities on agency leaders to manage their volunteer fire and EMS organizations like a business.
Tonight’s show will discuss financial reporting requirements and best practices for managing fire and EMS agency financial systems. My guest will be Dr. William William F. Jenaway, Vice President of VFIS Education, Training and Consulting Services; as well as President of the Board of Directors of the Congressional Fire Services Institute. We will focus on preventing theft in our volunteer firehouses and Dr. Jenaway will outline many important steps that should be implemented by the professional volunteer fire department to safeguard the department’s treasury and maintain accountability by department leaders.
Examining issues and challenges faced by the volunteer firefighter today. Being a professional firefighter has nothing to do with earning a paycheck but has everything to do with attitude, appearance, commitment and dedication. Hosted by Tom Merrill.

Now I understand your position that believes if our military is seen as so strong that no other country would dare to mess with us, let me ask you to try and understand this. All that is bull and we all know it. You see, there will always be someone making attempts to be the biggest bully on the hill and if that is your position right now, rest assured someone will attempt to remove you and replace you. This happens in all things right now. We see our boss in a position of power and strive to reach that position. We see the bully in the playground and work very hard to unseat him/her so that we could enjoy what we perceive that they are enjoying.
Moving forward while preserving trust. While we have been getting older, sixty-two people accumulated as much wealth as 1/2 the population of Earth. History tells us that imbalances like this are always resolved under attack. Roman outlawed hubris. It was wrong minded and provocative to lord riches and rank above citizens. They eventually repealed that law, an fell into moral, economic and military decline. Once again, wealth has become a symbol of greed. Men who have nothing, when they loose hope are a danger. Children are starving, dying. The diaspora in the millions are heading to the west. Agri-business has replaced the family farm but wealth has been there to buy up acreage for estate living. I believe freemasonry has enough resiliency to weather this instability but what comes of this new age reformation will be changed. We still trade on genius and celebrity, pleased having some curb appeal knowing thousands and thousands of contributions and acts of kindness eventually come together to define nations as they define us. We have never wanted to compete with cultural power. We share an unassailable belief in the goodness of mankind, helping the misfortunate and dedication to the advancement of humanity through arts & science; the two fascinations that define humanity. We modernize as we always have, as a small group of men with an honourable history and enduring moral alternative.
