As part of our continued effort to bring you the BEST Voice-Talent around, we are happy to present Marc Cashman.
MARC CASHMAN is one of the few voice-acting instructors in the U.S. who is on “both sides of the glass”—as a Clio-winning Radio and TV commercial copywriter, producer and casting director, and as a working voice actor. Creative Director of Cashman Commercials, he creates, casts and produces copy and music advertising for radio and television clients such as Kroger, Charles Schwab, Quizno's, Pella Windows and Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer among many, many others. As a voice actor, he has been heard locally, regionally, nationally and internationally on Radio, TV, film, documentaries, radio plays, video games and audio books. He has voiced thousands of Radio and TV commercials, dubbed foreign films, narrated dozens of audio books, and created the voices of many CD-Rom, online and videogame characters. Marc is currently represented by the Osbrink Agency in Los Angeles, California, plus many other local talent agencies around the country. He brings a high level of professionalism, humor, energy and creativity to every voice acting session. In addition to his production schedule, he's been an instructor at USC Graduate School and does pro bono work for numerous charitable and public service organizations. He instructs voice-acting of all levels through his online and tele-coaching programs, his V-O classes, The Cashman Cache of Voice-Acting Techniques in state-of-the-art studios in Los Angeles, CA, and produces voice demos. He also has a monthly online column, Ask the VoiceCat, plus blogs and podcasts through Voices.com, VoiceOverXtra.com and NowCasting.com,.
Our special guest for the month of June is: Robert Sciglimpaglia
Born in Stamford, Connecticut and one of three brothers, Robert graduated from Stamford Catholic High School in 1984. He passed the Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania bar exams on his first attempt and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1991. He is currently a practicing attorney, as well as an actor and accomplished voice over artist. Robert hosted a local radio program back in the mid 1990's called "The Law Show", and more recently, hosted a radio show called "Ask the Lawyer." Robert's first venture into the voice over field was a show called "American Experience: Hijacked!" which aired nationally on PBS-TV and was narrated by Campbell Scott. Since that time, he has appeared in numerous national projects with many big name stars, both in acting and voice overs such as: Hugh Grant, Drew Barrymore, Brad Garrett, Kristen Johnson, Patrick Dempsey, Susan Sarandon, Amy Adams, James Marsden, Denis Leary, Tatum O’Neal, James Gandolfini, Michael Imperioli, Edie Falco, Uma Thurman, Will Smith, Russell Crowe, Denzel Washington, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Chris Noth and numerous others. We plan to have an exciting show and learning more about Rob's take on Voiceover from both the talent and legal side of the issue. Space is very limited, so call in early.
Rodney Saulsberry is one of the top voice-over talents in the country and bestselling author known for his voice work on commercials for Twix, Domino’s Pizza and Zatarain’s, his two books (You Can Bank on Your Voice, Step Up to the Mic) the voice of Joe Robbie Robertson on the animated TV series Spider-Man, and James Rhodey Rhodes in the animated feature film, The Invincible Iron Man. Listen for Rodney’s narration voice on television and radio trailers that include How Stella Got Her Groove Back and the George Lucas produced movie, Red Tails.
Currently, Rodney is the radio announcer/voice for the New Orleans Hornets Basketball Team.
His voice over coaching talents are highly sought after. He travels occasionally all over the country teaching eager students how to do voice overs and hundreds of students throughout the years have traveled west to experience his workshops in Los Angeles. His voice over teleclasses over the telephone are also very popular.
Talking is not the only way this crooner has used his instrument. Rodney lent his melodious baritone singing voice to a jubilant ensemble of background singers on a spirited recording of Hakuna Matata on The Lion King movie soundtrack.
He continued his animation musical journey singing on two numbers from The Prince of Egypt soundtrack, When You Believe and Playing With The Big Boys. As a soloist, he has recorded two rhythm and blues albums that have produced
two Billboard charting singles, I Wonder and Look Whatcha Done Now.
In 2011, Saulsberry received an NAACP Image Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series for his role on The Bold and the Beautiful.
His Broadway credits include the musicals, Your Arms Too Short to Box With God and The First (The Jackie Robinson Story).
