    Part 2 Warrior/Survivor/Thriver - David Wayne

    in Motivation

This will be part 2 of this amazing mans story!!!

David Wayne - David is a survivor, advocate and consultant working on a volunteer basis since 2010, focusing primarily on policy, and also serving victims and survivors directly through case management, referrals and peer counseling, often long distance to other areas of the US and Canada. Although a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, his work within the state has been limited due to concerns on privacy and avoiding entanglements with former perpetrators.

In addition to serving with advocacy as a member of the National Survivor Network and Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS), David also advocates for girls and women who have been incarcerated as a result of sexual exploitation and trafficking, through formerly incarcerated survivor Sara Kruzan’s organization, I am SJK. David recently graduated from Rebecca Bender Ministry's Virtual Mentoring Program, a unique experience powered by survivors for survivors, and joined the Board of Directors of Project Soteria, another survivor-led organization, which works to prevent and eradicate exploitation while providing advocacy for juvenile justice. He also recently joined Cancer InCytes Magazine as an Editorial Adviser for the Culture, Law and Policy Department. David’s open letter to Amnesty International USA was featured and published among other survivor letters in opposition to Amnesty’s proposed policy that decriminalizes commercial sex business operators and sex buyers. David’s work also includes assistance with research and investigations, and he is the lead organizer of an effort to develop a regional task force against human trafficking in Northeast Pennsylvania.

    Why Mother’s Day is Wicked

    in Religion

All across the most powerful country in the world, men, women and children will give the most endearing honor to their Mothers on Mother’s Day.  Mothers may be honored with various festivities including: greeting cards, flowers, gifts, lavish meals, money and more.  Above all mothers will be honored with devoted attention.  And just as with most holidays, these practices take place without serious consideration as to why.  Why is Mother’s Day celebrated?  Why is Mother’s Day not mentioned in the Holy Scriptures?  Is Mother’s Day a new holiday or is it rooted in ancient practices?

Please feel free to phone into the Virtual Living room with your comments or questions.  We air programs on Blog Talk Radio at the following times: Sun 2:00pm, Mon 8:00pm, Tue 8:00pm, Wed 7:00pm, Thu 8:00pm, Fri 7:00pm & Sat 9:00am.  All times are Eastern Standard Time.

Setting a Trap for God: The Aramaic Prayer of Jesus

    in The Bible

Join the Operation Remnant Team as we delve into Rocco A. Errico’s book, Setting a Trap For God: The Aramaic Prayer of Jesus.  We’ll examine what Errico has to say about the prayer itself, what the prayer meant to the disciples and followers of the Messiah, and what these words hold for us today. Is there more to this prayer than modern-day believers have interpreted?  Has the English translation diluted the power behind the prayer?  Have believers missed the meaning altogether thereby allowing a powerful source to lie dormant for centuries?  Can this power still be obtained by the modern-day believer?

We’ll take a close look and breakdown supporting scriptural text used by Errico to get a better understanding of his position on this topic. What does the author actually mean when he says, “Setting a Trap for God”?  Join us as we walk step-by-step through each of the fourteen chapters examining everything, as the Operation Remnant (OR) Team is known for, pulling from the word of Yah and multiple resources, to get understanding and possibly another piece of our Creator's original intent.  You may not want to miss this!

    WHY SOME DON'T LIKE LEMONADE!

    in Current Events

I saw Lemonade over the weekend and I am still reflecting on. I have never seen anything like this and we are all talking. Even if you don't like it you are still talking about it. I have never seen a virtual album and I think it was brillant. It was hard to watch at times because it took me back to some places that I had been. Most of us have been in some of these situations that Bey talked about and did she talk about it. My cut is Don't hurt yourself! The lyrics as well as the instrumentation is something. Sorry was another that stuck with me. The images were powerful Malcolm X talking about the Black woman. The mothers of some the high profile police shooting. When she spoke about her daddy issues made me think about that is what is wrong with alot of us and why we can't have successful relationships. To see the different stages really spoke to me because that's what we go through phases and stages. You would think this would spark a discussion. Some women are not having. Strong smart women won't even entertain and I was suprised by some. This not about us agreeing or liking the same things. This is about not passing these generational curses on to our daughters. It is about not accepting certain things. It is about us beginning to love ourselves, share our stories, and sisterhood. I think some can't not embrace because they see themselves. Of course some church women had to comment that they don't care but there are plenty of first ladies living this everyday. I was on a google hangout with some women who were all different with different views and it was enlightening. One of them said something that is so true and that was if you didn't get it then it was probably not for you to get!
