Living in the south, with all its charms, traditions and iconography does not offer access into certain aspects of her history, especially when that history involves discussions around the Civil War and the Confederacy. The inability to rake through the smoldering ashes of a war fought 150 years ago, allows for a one-sided narrative that sometimes misrepresents the causes for war, the people - enslaved and free - who lived through the war and and its aftermath. Although it is a necessary, and some might add, long overdue undertaking, it is also anxiety ridden, especially within the black community.
How can parents of color approach this subject and explain to their children a war fought over, among other things, a system of that relegated their ancestors to permanent servitude?
Today, the Mommy Chronicles is on site as the Alabama State University Department of History and Political Science explores those issues by examining the Civil War history at its first Confederate Memorial Day "Mini" Conference.
April's FORUM podcast provides a historical reflection of the pre-ERISA days of 403(b) plan management and examines how that history is contributing to the challenges currently facing the administrative teams and executive leadership who bear the responsibility and liability of ERISA compliance. Our guest speaker, Ron W Hagan, President and Chief Operating Officer of Roland|Criss Fiduciary Services, offers insights and recommended best practices that provide the required "supply chain management" governance framework and protections that our C-suite Forum members seek.

This morning my heart aches, because Baltimore was burning as I watched opportunist and criminals take advantage and exploit the death of our Brother Mr. Gray ! In 5 days the biggest fight ever between Flod Mayweather and Manny Paquio will be here in Las Vegas May-2- 2015 ! This fight is suppose to be the richest in history with Floyd making 170 million and Manny Paquio a 130 million guaranteed win or lose ! I wonder as all the rich descend on to Sin City this week, will they be thinking about Baltimore ? It cleary is a no brainer, on why Baltimore was or is burning, because as African Americans adults we have failed our Children ! We can talk about all the lack of opportunity our children don't have massively and its true, but what hurts me the most is our African American children continue to pay the price for us being failed parents !

For over 15 years, Mr. Martell has been one of the leading researchers and lectures specializing in ancient civilization technologies. Mr Martell's research has been featured worldwide on numerous television and radio networks such as The Discovery Channel, Syfy Channel, and the BBC. He is currently a regular guest on the show "Ancient Aliens" on the History Channel. His latest book "Knowledge Apocalypse" is available on Amazon.com.
Most recently Mr. Martell garnered worldwide attention by recreating a working model of one of science's most profound mysteries - the "Baghdad Battery". Residing in the national museum of Iraq, the discovery of this 2,000 year old device suggests the modern day battery was not invented in 1800 by Count Alassandro Volt, but was in use two millennia earlier. Mr Martell's recreation was instrumental in proving the Baghdad Battery was capable of generating current.
