Deepertruth: Journey With The Virgin Mary As She Appeared at Ecuador 1988

    in Religion

On August 28, 1988, in Cuenca Ecuador the Blessed Virgin Mary first appeared to a young woman named Patricia "Pachi" Talbot. Our Lady identified herself, saying: "I am the Guardian of the Faith".

These apparitions continued until March 3, 1990. Patricia, twenty-seven today, was sixteen years old when the Blessed Mother chose her as an instrument to spread her messages to all Her people. Patricia was a model, a student, and throughout the apparitions, she continued with her studies. She has since married Andres Vega and they live in Cuenca. Here Patricia continues to strive to fulfill the particular mission the Blessed Mother gave her-service to the poor.

The apparitions began in Patricia's bedroom and continued in various churches, chapels, and her home until June of 1989 when they were moved to a Garden spot in El Cajas, high in the Andes Mountains. When moved to the Garden Spot in El Cajas, the Mother of God's visits normally occurred on Thursdays and Saturdays, often accompanied by phenomena such as bright lights in the sky, the sun "dancing", and on more than one occasion people's hands and faces sparkled with a golden glow, as if from glitter, which could not be rubbed off. Yet here, as in Medjugorje and in other reported apparition sites around the world, the importance was not the supernatural phenomena, but the interior conversion of heart and the abundant graces God was offering to His people, through His Most Holy Mother.

Deepertruth: The Virgin Mary Appears In The Ukraine 1987

    in Religion

The major story, here, for now, is Ukraine -- where a clash between protesters and a Russian-backed president (now deposed, but under Russian protection) has raised the specter of civil war and in a worst-case scenario, an explosion between Ukraine and Russia, which might drag other nations, including the U.S., into the conflict (America warned Russia this week not to interfere with internal Ukrainian matters, as Russian troops have lined near the border).

But antagonisms between Ukraine -- once part of the Soviet Union -- and Russia have simmered for a century (peaking before and during World War Two when the U.S.S.R. persecuted Christians, especially Catholics, and starved Ukraine, causing millions of deaths). Ukraine split from the Soviet bloc during the incredible break up of the Soviet Union, gaining its independence several years after the apparitions.

Along with thousands of others, Terelya was witness to this manifestation of the Blessed Mother in the rural hamlet of Hrushiw south of Lviv, where Mary first appeared on April 26, 1987, to an eleven-year-old peasant, Maria Kizyn -- a girl who had absolutely no guile and who never contradicted her testimony of first seeing Mary on the balcony of a domed wood chapel called Blessed Trinity, dressed in black.

The events were first reported in America by The New York Times on October 13, 1987 -- a major feast day of the Fatima apparitions, which bore "secrets" (again "coincidentally") focusing on Russia, atheism, and the possibility (in the vaunted third secret) of an angel "torching" the world.

Deepertruth: Join Us As We Meet The Virgin Mary In Venezuela at 8:00 P.M.

    in Religion

In 1976 the first apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary was reported. In 1984 she appeared to over 100 people at the grotto in Betania and soon afterwards the local bishop, Pio Bello Ricardo (shown in photo on the right) opened an investigation.  After a 3-year investigation he gave his approval for the apparitions in 1987, declaring that they were authentic, supernatural and of divine nature. He recommended Betania as a place of pilgrimage. you could often find him among the crowds during one of the Feast Days outlined below.

Another unique experience that occasionally took place was the red rose that miraculously came out of her chest. This was an incredibly painful experience for Maria Esperanza and was witnessed by doctors, priests and lay people alike.

Convincing Facebook to Remove 'Virgin Mary Should've Aborted'

    in Religion

This is not a First Amendment issue but a matter of forcing Facebook to uphold their own standards regarding Hate Speech. Cary Bogue says the Facebook page "Virgin Mary Should've Aborted" should be taken. Is it offensive to Christians? Yes. Should they be forced to remove it?

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.

But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!

If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!

It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

What the Charismatic Church Believes: The Blessed Virgin Mary

    in Christianity

There's no doubt in this church: There's Something About the Virgin Mary. As St. Jerome said, "What we believe about Mary comes from what we believe about Christ."

She was venerated and consulted by the Apostles. She was cared for by the Beloved Disciple. She presided over Pentecost with the disciples.

Yet, so many questions swirl around her. If she was a perpetual virgin, then who are the "brothers and sisters of Jesus" mentioned in the Bible? How can she be Immaculately Conceived (meaning she was conceived in her mother's womb free from sin) if Paul says, "All have sinned"? Why do the people who honor her worship her statues? Why would Jesus have her appear around the world and perform miracles in her name?

Listen and learn why the ancient church, from the very beginning, honored, revered, and loved Mary, the Mother of God.

The Charismatic Universalist Church is a theologically traditional church. Eastern in liturgy, Catholic in theology and roots, born without judgment of persons, calling all to the sacraments, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or marital status. We believe in the Real Presence in the Eucharist and marry same sex couples with joy.

This is church as Jesus intended. Loving, anointed, believing, and serving.

Deepertruth: Visions of Blessed Virgin Mary in San Nicholas, Argentina Part II

    in Religion

Back for a second week going to San Nicholas, Argentina.  On the 13th of October, anniversary of the last appearance at Fatima, the Virgin spoke for the first time:

You have done well.  Do not be afraid.  Come to see me.  I will take you by the hand and you will travel many paths.

After the message the Virgin refers to a message from the Bible, the word of God that illuminates all word.  With this text she is encouraged to fulfill her mission, to take her messages although difficulties may appear.  Thereafter, she begins to receive other messages frequently.  On October 19th, She said to her:

Rebels are unjust and humble the servants of the Lord.  Seek help and you will receive it.  Do not fear.  Nothing will happen to you.  The Lord leaves nothing at random.

On October 25th, Gladys goes for the second time, since the apparitions started, to the city of Rosario, seat of the archbishop, city consecrated to Our Lady of the Rosary. That day, exactly a month to the day of the first apparition, the Virgin appears to her and She tends a white rosary to her:  Receive this rosary from my hands and keep it forever and ever.  I am happy because you are obedient.  And be happy because God is with you.

The messages continue, with frequent references to the Sacred Scriptures. It is that Mary leads to the word of God and this way continues her invitation, as she did to the servants of Cana:  "Do all that He tells you".  This one is a new and singular fact in the history of the Marian apparitions.

"Journey with Mary" -- Visits in Cuenca, Ecuador: Part Three

    in Religion

John Carpenter hosts a further exploration into the appearances of Our Lady in Cuenca, Ecuador in 1988-1990.  Co-host Donald Hartley adds a Biblical perspective as they discuss these visits and what they mean for mankind.

John Carpenter was raised in a Methodist church, his father was a Minister of a Methodist congregation. On Deepertruth, John Carpenter will give his conversion story how he has come to accept the Catholic Faith. Since his conversion, John has developed a great interest in the Virgin Mary. He began investigating Marian apparitions bring a wholeness of faith into his life.

John has been featured on Deepertruth each and every Sunday night focusing on many of these Marian apparitions. The show is called Journey with Mary as we go from one country to another in time and space.

John also works at the Diocesan level helping the local Bishop of Springfield Missouri, he is a part of the Southern Missouri Marian Association, and is part of Deepertruth. He speaks at conferences where he is becoming more sought after for his study of Marian apparitions.

John has certainly become an important figure for Deepertruth as he has helped co-host conversion stories of other Catholics. John’s professional background, a field of psychology, gives him a unique perspective in studying the seers of Our Lady from Heaven.  Tonight, John will give his conversion story.

We are all called to follow the Lord in all that we are and I think this is why conversion stories are so important to many of us. They offer hope in times of despair. Because we are living in an evil age, St. Paul writes, ”And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper.” Romans 1:28
