On Why Yet's Watch with Ceet the Author and Kvn Tajzea

    in Books

Ceet the Author hails from South Philadelphia, where he began honing his craft as an artist as early as age nine. At age fourteen he wrote a short story for his high school English class titled, Summertime in my Neighborhood. Fifteen years later that story became the basis for Ceet's first official release, 2009's The Whore and The Virgin. The book became an instant hood classic and all of the positive feedback inspired Ceet to release his second effort, A Dog's Day, that very same year.

Ceet then began pursuing another passion of his, filmmaking and videography in 2010 by writing, producing and directing several independent film projects while releasing several more novels under the imprint of BRP Entertainment and with several projects down the line, Ceet shows no signs of slowing down...

Kvn Tajzea (Keh-vun Tah- Jhay) is more than your typical R&B singer, songwriter and actor. Kvn began his love affair with music and acting at a very young age. "I was a very sick child growing up and nearly died a few times. I wasn'treally allowed to play outside until the age of 7 because my immune system was so weak." He read, listened to, and watched a plethora of varying artistic expression. Even after becoming healthy enough to lead the normal life of a kid his passion for the arts continued to grow and manifested itself in a variety of ways ranging from poetry, drawing, songwriting and acting. Kvn is an accomplished vocalist with a four octave range whose smooth, syrupy and comforting voice conceals an old school rasp that lets you in on the pain and tribulation that fuels a tone of hope in every note he sings. "The First Return" is Kvn's debut project featuring the production of hit maker Ron Love of MonaRK Productions.

Join me, Why Yet, as I chat it up with both of these industrious artists.

    See ya,

The Career Expert Live - With Special Guest John Faye

    in Self Help

With 2 decades in the music business under his belt, Philly rock veteran John Faye has truly taken matters into his own hands: his new solo album Meddling Kid (which he is releasing a song at a time until the full record drops later in 2015) is an artistic tour-de-force on which he plays every instrument and sings every note (with the one notable exception of inviting all of his colleagues from his former band IKE to sing gang vocals on his remake of that band's signature hit "Into Philadelphia"). The lead single, "D.N.A.," is a scathing rebuke of skin-deep relationships and snap judgements in the age of Tinder and short attention spans.

John Faye has amassed an impressive musical resume dating back to his major label days fronting 90's alt-rockers The Caulfields (whose single "Devil's Diary" cracked the modern rock top-40, and whose album tracks landed on soundtracks for Disney's "The Babysitter's Club" and "Melrose Place"), to his first solo foray The John Faye Power Trip, which morphed into the aforementioned IKE (who put out 6 full-length records from 2003-2011), and his punk / garage-rock influenced duo John & Brittany, who gained notoriety on the Sirius/XM channel "Little Steven's Underground Garage" and on MTV-u with their video for their song "Paper Planes."

Now, in 2015, Faye is forging a brand new DIY path with his new record and live band, fittingly called John Faye & Those Meddling Kids! With sold out headlining shows in their home town and a coveted slot at Radio 104.5's Summer Block Party with Nate Ruess of Fun, The War On Drugs, MS MR, and Civil Twilight, John Faye is poised to bring out the Meddling Kid in everyone within earshot.

    in Politics Progressive

An anatomy of oppression requires an anatomy of colonialism.  The anatomy of colonialism is merely a description ot the connections that we have which relates to economics i.e. jobs, education, housing etc.  Jim Crow is not dead but alive and growing by the minute.  The question is, Do we have the emotional capacity to with this reality i.e. The New Slavery ?.

Beauty arises in the stillness-being present and mini 3 card tarot readings..

    in Spirituality

On my recent vacation to the Caribbean - Cozumel, Belize and Rotane Hondarus.

I found this to be very magical and shifted me in many ways. In Belize I found that the plants in this beautiful place- most of the plants can be made into medicines that are used to help heal a variety of ailments. ( I will only talk about 2 on my show, so many plants used for medicinal purposes are so very helpful and healing. (1 - Snake Plant- this plant is used for snake bite- the Belizeans are taught to identify the species of snake life on the island- types of coral snakes and many venomous snakes. This aids in the slowing of the venom, until a hospital can be reached. 2) Gravola tree - (Sour Sap). Soursap is the fruit of Annona muricata, a broadleaf, flowering, evergreen tree native to Mexico, Cuba, Central America, the Carribean islands of Hispaniola and Puerto Rico are only some of where this is found. this can save lives, fill up hopes and build confidence.

Have you ever gazed into the starry night or into space on a clear night: awestruck by the absolute stillness and inconceivable vastness of it.

Have listened, truly listened to the sound of a mountain stream in the forest, or to the sound from birds.

To become more aware of these things, the mind needs to be still. You may at times have to put your foot down for a moment your personal baggage of problems, of past and future, as well as all your knowledge; otherwise, you will see but not se, hear but not hear. Your total presence is needed.

Would it be there without your presence? Go deeply into it. Find out for yourself.

"Relationship Tuesday" Why Do Women Go Out With Deadbeat Losers?

    in Romance

MEN If you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile. But, if you put us on a leash, they’ll gnaw it off and go even more crazy once there free.  There’s a fine balance between loving your man and smothering your man. There are countless posts online where women complain about their deadbeat boyfriends for never paying for anything, never buying them gifts, always playing video games all day long while still living at home in their parents basement, and never holding on to a job for more than a year to save their lives. Yet, these women still latch on, hoping they’ll one day change their man for the better.

Settling for a deadbeat loser is like settling for a job you hate. There are way too many people who hate their jobs and keep on doing them, just like there are way too many women who settle for men who treat them poorly. What is it about non-ideal situations which makes us keep carrying on, doing nothing to change?

My theory is that in the beginning, most women don’t know the guy is a deadbeat loser. He probably is reasonably attractive and tells a good story about his current situation and his ambitions. Obviously, he will be on his best behavior during the wooing process. It might take one week, or it might take many months, but until a consummation is made, guys can be very charming! By the time a woman hooks up with the guy, only afterward will she see his true colors.

Deepertruth: The Virgin Mary Appearing At A Location Somewhere In Europe

    in Religion

The Virgin Mary appears to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830 giving us the “Miraculous Medal” that shows Mary standing on the moon and the Devil under her feet.

St Augustine said (354-430), “Since the devil is the head of original sin, this head it was that Mary crushed: for sin never had any entry into the soul of this Blessed Virgin, which was consequently free from all stain”.

As I kept thinking about this, I just wanted to reach out to God and thank him, even in this place. He has given us so much.

I couldn’t help thinking of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous identifying herself, “I am the Immaculate Conception”.

I thought of the wonders God has worked at Lourdes that even today miracles are happening.  I understand that several thousand people go to Lourdes France everyday from around the world.
God promised us signs and wonders through his presence among his Church.
