Last night I was on Facebook and somone reposted a video on my news feed. The screen cap of the video shows a New York City subway with people on it. When I clicked to watch the video to my surprise black couple was arguing on a crowded 5 train. The female was pregnany and was being pushed by her partner. Find out Angeline and myselfs opinion on how the rest of the video plays out.
Domestic Violance is the leading cause of injury to women sending over 1 million every year to doctor’s offices or emergency rooms. This violence isn’t occurring from the hands of a stranger but from the hands of the man that has said I love you. In view of the recent domestic violence stories in the news I decided to write this article and take you inside the mind of men that abuse. I want to share the knowledge and experiences that I’ve had facilitating groups and counseling over 1,000 men that have abused their intimate partners. In all that we have seen or experienced we know that there are too many women and men dying, people being injured, far too many children growing up in violent homes to later become victims or abusers themselves. By the grace of God, reality would come back to me as the rage would decrease," Sir says. "I look back now and I can see that at that time, when the rage would come, it was like tunnel vision.

Domestic and relationship violence among youth is not a new topic but many parents do not know the warning signs and symptoms of a young adult suffering through an abusive relationship. Tanya J. Peterson Author of Losing Elizabeth has skillfully and masterfully developed a story which informs, educates and explores the young adult denial stages when one goes through a situation like this and the struggle to break free.
"Every young adult, parent, educator and mental health specialist should read this book becuase the storyline helps us all swallow this big pill and it goes down with a gentle and informative effectiveness." Lady Selah SuJuris

Selling In A Skirt With Judy Hoberman and her guest January Jones & Regina Rowley
Ms. Jones is the self-proclaimed “Whine Tester” She is a reformed whiner who lives every day in the “No Whine Zone”. Her book published by Beaufort Books is entitled Thou Shalt Not Whine…..The Eleventh Commandment and reached a #1 ranking at amazon.com. Ms. Jones specializes in homemaker humor in the tradition of Erma Bombeck. She is also the author of Jackie Ari and Jack: The Tragic Love Triangle and two other Kennedy books.
“What makes January such an expert on whining?” She is a golfer, a woman, a wife, a mother with four kids and grandmother of seven. Also, January was a widow at 25 years with two small children so she knows a little about whining and a lot about winning. http://www.januaryjones.coM
Regina Rowely began taking Tae-kwon-do years ago with my son. Although he discontinued, I found the demanding mental and physical exercise highly beneficial and continued. Spring 2008 afforded me the opportunity to achieve my Black Belt. While researching self defense programs I came across several including Hikuta and have high regards for it. Krav Maga, the official self-defense and fighting system of the Israeli Defense Forces is the foundation for Commando Krav Maga. Smartsafe, aka: Women’s Commando Krav Maga, is the program I have chosen to teach, receiving my first certification in NYC March 2010.
It is my dream to change the violent statistics against women. I move closer to this each time I teach and speak. I love to speak to women’s groups on Awareness, Prevention, Empowerment, and Women’s Self Defense. Together, we will make a positive difference in the lives of women every where; one woman at a time. http://www.reginarowley.com
Living free from violence is a human right, yet millions of women and girls suffer disproportionately from violence both in peace and in war, at the hands of the state, in the home and community. Across the globe, women are beaten, raped, mutilated, and killed with impunity. Gender-based violence stems from the failure of governments and societies to recognize the human rights of women. It is rooted in a global culture of discrimination which denies women equal rights with men and which legitimizes the appropriation of women's bodies for individual gratification or political ends. Everyday, all over the world, women face gender-specific persecution including genital mutilation, sexual slavery, forced prostitution, and domestic violence. At least one out of every three women worldwide has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime.
Violence against women feeds off discrimination and serves to reinforce it. When women are abused in custody, raped by armed forces as "spoils of war," or terrorized by violence in the home, unequal power relations between men and women are both manifested and enforced. Violence against women is compounded by discrimination on the grounds of race, ethnicity, sexual identity, social status, class, and age. Such multiple forms of discrimination further restrict women's choices, increase their vulnerability to violence, and make it even harder for women to obtain justice.
States have the obligation to prevent, protect against, and punish violence against women whether perpetrated by private or public actors. States have a responsibility to uphold standards of due diligence and take steps to fulfill their responsibility to protect individuals from human rights abuses. Yet such violence is often ignored and rarely punished. Too often no one is held accountable for these crimes.
