This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay!

Chai Chat returns with a totally NEW FOCUS! We are now "Chai Chat: Creating New Worlds At Work!" My NEW CO-HOST is Mary Rauchenstein, Creative Leadership Guru. Mary is a certified John Maxwell speaker, trainer, and coach. She has held leadership positions in business for the past 30 years, with two decades at the VP level. And I am, Victoria A. Vetere, PhD, HC, Enlightened Life Coach, Consultant, and author of the newly published Enlightenment Appetizers: A Taste of Enlightenment in Everyday Life (Balboa Press).
Each show we will explore topics that will help us to create new wolds at work! Today we will explore a term that is widely used, but often misunderstood, Leadership. What is leadership? When we think of leadership, what leaders come to mind historically, politically and from a business perspective? What attributes must a leader have?
Next we will dig a bit deeper and talk about Enlightened Leadership. What is it? What distinguises a Enlightened Leader from the rest of the leadership pack? And further, what are we looking for from our leaders, both culturally and politically? Can they deliver this and what happens if they don't?
Chai Chat will aire twice monthly, usually on Tuesday at 10am. We want to hear from YOU! Really. So listen up, then pipe up! Tell us what you think and what you want to know. If we are going to "create new worlds at work," we are going to do this TOGETHER. So let's get going.....

I started my career as a Counselling Psychologist in 1990. Along the way I became a Certified Morita Therapist after traveling to Japan to participate in the first International Morita Therapy Symposium. Back in Montreal I did a one year's internship at the Royal Victoria Hospital's Behaviour Therapy Clinic, another 1 1/2 years at the Montreal General Hospital's Addictions Unit, one year consulting in the development of behavioural management software, 1 1/2 years at a Native Healing Lodge (I actually participated in a sweat lodge ceremony on the night of New Year's Eve ushering in the new millennium), became a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and that's not all. I discovered that I had other gifts that were not easy to explain or to use under the guise of a Psychologist, in fact they were forbidden. But, I used them with my friends and family. By using laying-on of the hands (I found out later was similar to Reiki Therapy) in combination with spiritual hypnotherapy, people reported improvements in conditions ranging from cancer, to arthritis, to neck pain, headaches, anxiety, and many other maladies.

Victoria, BC – Our beliefs about money come from how we were raised, the stories we were told about money. We carry those stories with us throughout our lives. Some spend more than they have. Others have much more than they spend.
Our poor financial habits will only change if we can make a psychological shift. We need to find the root of our recurring behavior and move past our limiting beliefs about money.
“Finance is an art like dancing or music,” says financial consultant Tanya Sterling, “It’s a matter of integrating both sides of our brain so we use whole brain thinking and can be creative with our money.”
Tanya is the founder of Sterling Financial Accounting Services, a traditional financial advisory and consulting firm that integrates financial coaching into its services through ‘Financial Brilliance.”
“We saw a need,” says Tanya. “We would provide clients with all the necessary tools and resources, but something wasn’t switching for them. I wanted to help my clients achieve what they were coming to me to achieve."
Five years ago, Tanya discovered Power-Coaching with Mind-Kinetics. With Mind-Kinetics, Tanya can help tap into our challenges around money and rewrite the story we tell ourselves to make permanent positive changes for the future.
“At first people are skeptical. We’re doing things you don’t normally do when you come to your accountant,” says Tanya. “But at the end of a session, there’s an emotional release. New ideas develop that they may not have thought of before, and that’s when the magic starts to happen.”
