SIBLING VIOLENCE- WHEN IS IT HORSEPLAY AND WHEN IS IT ABUSE?
A friend once told me that her brother made her sit in a lawn chair while he attached it to a car battery to make an electric chair. What?! Sometimes sibling rivalry isn’t harmless. Sometimes it’s violent abuse that can lead to problems in adulthood for victims.
Two people who work with and have experienced sibling abuse join us to talk about what it is, how it is minimized, and the later implications for victims.
Amy Meyers, PhD, is an assistant professor of Social Work at Molloy College and sees victims of sibling abuse in her clinical practice. She sees the terminology we use when talking about brothers and sisters as one way we overlook sibling abuse.
Nancy Kilgore, MS knows how brother and sister relationships can be traumatic and harmful. Author of Girl in the Water: A Personal Story of Bullying and Sibling Abuse, and The Sourcebook for Working with Battered Women, Nancy works with victims of abuse by sibling.
Both women join us to talk about this little-explored area of interpersonal violence.

The Title says it. Why? It makes sense. I come from your place, or very close to it, Even if we are at odds we are closer than others. I am not campaigning for your money, am not a Politician, will be among the best smart Commander-In-Chiefs, even protecting our military men and women. What are your problems or worries. They are many of mine because many of them touch me or have touched me, touched my family and people we know and don’t know. I know an unknown person has no chance to be seen by you. I know that its stupid to do this, and it even looks more stupid. But it’s not that stupid when you consider all the stupid things that are going on right now or that have just happened. Please see me in a better smart light. I say things that you may not like or want to hear. But they are for our own good, They need to be said and brought to light and right. There are some fancy people running for President. I am not one of them. I am one among us, if you can understand that in all its fullness. It is surmised that when you reach the White House, things change you. Except for becoming better, I will not change the good, right, smart within me or what must and should be done. For all, I want much better for you: people, animals, our earth. The White House belongs to you, with a person of the people, ordinary if necessary and not to a Political Party. If you see it that way, could you and will you put together 120,000,000 Write-In Ballots for a Presidency being for us, with just one of us in there seeing to a better United States and for Americans of all blood types of O's, A's and B's. If that many are cast, we will not have a divided country or Congress. One willing caring for all doing person can start a better world. You can begin with such a President. This idea is for you, not me. thanks, bwell, c2it, i am often called c2, Curt Clinton

Chapter 2 MISSIONARY ADAPTATION
FEW PEOPLE SEEM to be aware that the Roman Catholic Church in America is officially recognized as a State. How this came about makes interesting reading. Early in his administration, President Ronald Reagan invited the Vatican City, whose ruling head is the Pope, to open its first embassy in Washington, D.C. His Holiness responded positively, and the embassy, or Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See, opened officially on January 10, 1984.
(Nun-ci-a-ture a papal diplomatic mission headed by a nuncio)
Shortly thereafter, a complaint was filed against President Reagan at U.S. District Court in Philadelphia by the American Jewish Congress, the Baptist Joint Committee on Public Affairs, Seventh Day Adventists, the National Council of Churches, the National Association of Evangelicals, and Americans United for Separation of Church and State. The plaintiffs sought to have the Court declare that the administration had unconstitutionally granted to the Roman Catholic faith privileges that were being denied to other establishments of religion.
On May 7, 1985 the suit was thrown out by Chief Judge John Fullam. Judge Fullam ruled that district courts do not have jurisdiction to intervene in “foreign policy decisions” of the executive branch. Bishop James W. Malone, President of the U.S. Catholic Conference, praised Judge Fullam’s decision, noting that it settled “not a religious issue but a public policy question.”
