Food or Fiction: The Truth about Health with Amanda Morgan

    in Health

On this episode of The Period Party, Nat & Nicole talk with Amanda Morgan, a rebel nutritionist and creator of the Food or Fiction Program, a 4-week group coaching program designed to help women learn the truth about their favorite foods and start eating healthy on their own terms.

Here are the highlights of what we cover during this episode:

The misguided desire for women to want to associate with a diet label rather than understanding what true health means for them.
Placing foods on “nice” and “naughty” lists and what this does to our mental health (both in terms of diet labels and food itself).
Where the “food or fiction” concept came from and why it’s important to embrace the “f*ck it” mindset and not listen to anyone else but your own intuition.
Why everyone and their mother should be angry with how inappropriate and deceptive food marketing has become and why it’s important to educate yourself.
The future of the diet industry.

Amanda is not afraid to speak her mind about today’s most controversial nutrition topics, and has been praised by blogs such as MindBodyGreen, The Daily Meal, and SheKnows Media for her unique spin on healthy living. She believes that health has nothing to do with diets, and instead places emphasis on happiness, fulfillment, and fun. Dream Catchers - Possibilities not Disabilities - Les Paul Morgan

I am an American Citizen doing all I can to find the American Dream who just also happens to have a disability. Disability is not a bad word it’s the way people have used the word to create so many negative stereotypes that I cannot stand! The fact is I am one single person living with a disability on a journey of discovery to help myself and hopefully many, many others will discover their possibilities and turn them into a lifelong Dream Come True!

Because I work for a Center for Independent Living which is a Civil Rights for people with disabilities organization while I am at work I am working in the very heart of the disability rights movement as a peer supporter and advocate for person with disabilities as a person with a disability. I feel this gives me a great eyes view of ways to help people find ways to overcome the many problems of living with a Brain Injury or any other type of disability so I hope we together can concur the illusion that we can’t do something great because I know we can!!!

    Tonight’s Topics,

    1.  Now Brain Injury Awareness Month is over so what?

    2.  What is a Self-directed, Self-Controlled life?

    3.  Self-Esteem

    4.  Confidence building

    5. Attending Life Skills Classes

    6. Letting your possibilities overcome disabilities

    7. Live Chat, Interactive talk, Music as Therapy, and positive Conversation’s

Relationship Baggage From the Male and Female Perspective with Quinton Morgan

    in Romance

Baggage is the term used to describe the emotional and mental "junk" from the past that we carry around with us every day. From old childhood hurts like bullying, rejection, and fears of abandonment to the crushing blows of physical, emotional or verbal abuses - everyone has wounds that they drag with them from relatoinship to relationship. How can you identify the attitudes and behaviors and often unrealistic expectations you developed in the past which negatively impact your current day success in life and love?

Join us for a chat with our special guest Quinton Morgan on Friday April 8th at 7:00 PM PST. Quinton is the author of two widely acclaimed works on baggage, separated by gender to show the differences in how the sexes experience emotional turmoil and what they do with those feelings.
