Lucas Matthysse vs Ruslan Provodnikov, Fonfara-Chavez Recaps

    in Sports

Inside of the ring, objectively, it doesn't get a whole lot better than last weekend. Between Matthysse-Provodnikov and Terence Crawford vs Thomas Dulorme on HBO and Andrzej Fonfara vs Julio Cesar Chavez on Showtime, there was mayhem, dirty tactics, drama, classy boxing, blood and, not to be overlooked, tremendous heart shown. Unfortunately so much of the great stuff was overshadowed by an ill-advised social media choice from Sergey Kovalev. This week on TQBR Radio, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Queensberry Rules' Patrick Connor cover it all, from top to bottom -- including this coming weekend's Wladimir Klitschko vs Bryant Jennings...whatever it is. Thanks for tuning in!

Ryan Kielczweski Joins the FNU Combat Sports Show

    in Sports

Professional Boxer Ryan Kielczweski (22-1, 6 KOs) joins our broadcast tonight. The Quincy, Massachusetts fighter just appeared on last Friday's ESPN Friday Night fights in a controversial bout against Danny Aquino (17-2, 10 KOs). Aquino, who hails from the same state as the Mohegan Sun venue, took away a split decision victory with two judges scoring the bout 78-74 in his favor and the other judge giving it to Ryan by the same score. We'll talk with Ryan about his career so far and what's next for the 25-year-old Super Featherweight. Tom, Tony and Rich will also cover one of the biggest weekends in combat sports history. There were so many fights going on all over the world that the Fight News Unlimited server crashed multiple times between Friday night and Monday morning. From the Rockhold vs. Machida UFC fight card on Fox to the "fight of the year" caliber boxing brawl between Lucas Matthysse and Ruslan Provodnikov, there was plenty of action going on in cages and rings all across the universe. We'll try to recap it all, talk to Ryan and look forward to the week ahead on this show.

PAD HAS BEEN TAINTED AND THE ROLES WILL BE REVERSED

    in Books

Rodney "Tainted" Lucas was born August 14, 1979. He had a fast upbringing due to being raised by a single Mother. When asked, "Why do you write and what makes you so passionate!" Mr. Lucas smiled and said, "Life and the lack of living!" "I remember when all I had was a pencil, paper and hope. Hopes that I could write away my pain one word at a time", Mr. Lucas calmly explained. Mr. Lucas has written and performed for engagements, weddings, and funerals, just to name a few. It is very evident in his writings that he takes his gift serious. In addition to writing his book, website, and blog, he's extremely focused on finishing his professionally recorded album. Mr. Lucas is a highly descriptive writer which makes his words that much more powerful. "I'm barely starving. Playing the hand I was dealt because I'd rather gamble than throw my cards in", said Mr. Lucas quoting his recent poem titled "A Truth." Mr. Lucas is determined to brighten his future as well as that of his family. He is all too familiar with the struggle and refuses to go back to that. "I come from the bottom which is why I'm so determined to be on top", explains Mr. Lucas

    VICTIM

As I played dress up with dolls I was drowning in distance and confused pass the point of purity. Subdued in insecurity.

The mind of a nine year old could not begin to comprehend the madness that unfolded as he staggered in a drunken dazed towards me with one hand on his zipper and the other hand with his finger over his lips saying, "Don't you dare make a whisper!"

With every thrust my innocence slipped further into the depths of destruction. Manifesting so much hated, animosity, damnation and destruction.

I shouldn't have to scream for you to hear my cry. I shouldn't have to bleed for you to see that I am literally about to die.

Or is it the denial that won't let you look into my eyes. And you're my Mother. My pain you should feel. The slaughtering of my salvation. The choking of my chastity. The asphyxiation not allowing me to lash out. The pain unbearable, breaking me and as I pray I can only endure it....not pass out.

Where is my God in my time of pleading? Where is he while my virginity is being invaded and I cannot stop the bleeding?

And as I attempt to make it through another day, I dread the coming of the night when I play dress up with dolls, drowning in distance and confused pass the point of purity pretending
