Is There A Disease In The Public Mind?

    in History

Have we learned from history? Are we repeating it again? It has been one hundred and fifty-five years since the United States fought the American Civil War. In this segment of The Organic View, host, June Stoyer talks to author, Thomas Fleming, who recently published, A Disease in the Public Mind: A New Understanding of Why We Fought the Civil War. By the time John Brown hung from the gallows for his crimes at Harper's Ferry, Northern abolitionists had made him a “holy martyr” in their campaign against Southern slave owners. This Northern hatred for Southerners long predated their objections to slavery. They were convinced that New England, whose spokesmen had begun the American Revolution, should have been the leader of the new nation. Instead, they had been displaced by Southern “slavocrats” like Thomas Jefferson. This malevolent envy exacerbated the South's greatest fear: a race war. Jefferson's cry, “We are truly to be pitied,” summed up their dread. For decades, extremists in both regions flung insults and threats, creating intractable enmities. By 1861, only a civil war that would kill a million men could save the Union. Thomas Fleming is a distinguished historian and the author of more than fifty books. A frequent guest on PBS, A&E, and the History Channel, Fleming has contributed articles to American Heritage, MHQ, and other magazines. He lives in New York.

You Can Be Free of the Spiritual Disease of Lying to Yourself and Others

    in Spirituality

Did you know that most of the diseases of today are man-made?  Did you know that your environment is filled with toxins, and poisoned water by design?  Did you know that our currency is meaningless and that long ago the monetary system falied us?  Did you know that we are all being controlled by provocative and prejudiced media?  Of course, you knew it.  Did you know that we inhabit a milieu of lies that seek to keep us from the eternal God and his Christ?  "What is, is right" is a terrible lie.  The spiritual disease of lying is sanctioned by the social engineers.  You, as a metaphysical being with freedom and dignity is gone.  God can set you free through the truth of his Word.

HH • Parkinson's Disease, is it becoming an Epidemic?

    in Health

Parkinson's disease is degenerative neurological disorder resulting from nerve cells in the brain not producing enough of the chemical dopamine, which regulates movement. Parkinson’s disease develops gradually, often starting on one side of the body as a slight tremor in one hand, for example. As the disorder progresses, the trembling may spread to both sides of the body and be accompanied by other symptoms such as muscle stiffness, slowing of movement, and deterioration in balance and coordination. A minority of those with Parkinson's will eventually experience dementia as their disease progresses, including loss of memory and other cognitive functions.

The Business of Disease with Author/Producer Sonia Barrett

    in Health

Today's special guest, executive producer Sonia Barrett along with Dream Spell Productions premiered a groundbreaking documentary, The Business of Disease last year at the Laemmle NoHo7 Theater in North Hollywood, CA. Named best documentary in the Marina Del Rey Film Festival in December 2014, the documentary presents a compelling case for individuals to be self-aware and to take control of their overall health and healing.

The 88-minute documentary explores what the producers call the "hypnosis of marketing" - a belief system that has evolved over many decades about healing that generated and perpetuated by the marketing arms of the drug and medical industry; the meaning behind Business of Disease. Alongside a group of spiritual leaders, speakers and doctors the producers aim to present an alternative view of self-care and a holistic approach to healing. The film aspires to educate individuals on their understanding of healing in addition to learning about the body's natural ability to heal.

Sonia Barrett has appeared on panels with such noted speakers/scientists as Dr. Amit Goswami, Dr. Bruce Lipton and a number of others. She has been a Key Note Speaker at a number of conferences, is a popular radio and television guest. For four years she was the host/producer and founder of Sovereign Mind Radio.
