    in Christianity

In John 4, Jesus arrived at the town of Cana, where he had turned the water into wine. While he was there, a man in the city of Capernaum, a government official, whose son was very sick, heard that Jesus had come from Judea and was traveling in Galilee. This man went over to Cana, found Jesus, and begged him to come to Capernaum with him and heal his son, who was now at death’s door. Jesus asked, “Won’t any of you believe in me unless I do more and more miracles?” The official pled, “Sir, please come now before my child dies.” Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son is healed!” The man believed Jesus and started home. While he was on his way, some of his servants met him with the news that all was well his son had recovered. He asked them when did his son began to feel better, and they replied, “Yesterday afternoon at about one o’clock his fever suddenly disappeared!” Then the father realized it was the same moment that Jesus had told him, “Your son is healed.” And the officer and his entire household believed that Jesus was the Messiah! FRIENDS, JESUS HEALED THE MAN'S SON EVEN WITHOUT PHYSICALLY TOUCHING THE BOY! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? JESUS KNEW THE MAN HAD FAITH AND HE OBEYED WHEEN JESUS SAID "GO HOME, BECAUSE YOUR SON IS HEALED." THE MAN OBEYED JESUS AND WENT HOME. AND HE RECEIVED THE VICTORY AT THE THE EXACT TIME THAT JESUS SPOKE TO HIM! IF YOU HAVE FAITH, YOU WILL DO AS JESUS SAYS AND YOU WILL RECEIVE THE VICTORY! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD! John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

GOP Deciding Who To Support, Trump or Hillary, Remembering Mom & Lauren's Life

    in Politics

Two former presidents, and a former GOP presidential nominee say "no" to supporting Trump, so does that mean they're supporting Hillary?  Will GOP make some populist adjustments or fade into insignificance and give rise to a 3rd party?  And is the Democratic party ready to come out of the closet and confirm what most of us already know about them?  Bernie like Trump has proven he knows more about the party's new base than the party elites.  The fix may be in, but that will only gets Clinton to the nomination, but it will it get her and Bill back to the White House?

Our favorite historian, Bruce Kauffmann is here to remember mom, just in time for Mother's Day, and with all the "unlikeables" on both sides at this point, who will be able to rally the general electorate.  Economist Steve Moore discusses the proposed death of coal.  And of course, it's Friday so that means "Life With Lauren" her curious and entertaining perspective on our life and culture.

    in Christianity

    Proverbs 14:12 (KJV)
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

    1 Corinthians 1:21 (KJV)
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
    Romans 10:3 (KJV)
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Leave Some Baggage At Baggage Claim

    in Women

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could simply lose our emotional baggage the same way our luggage gets lost by airline companies? If only we could turn off our emotions and memories that easily.

Even the most “perfect” upbringing has its baggage. It doesn’t require a traumatic event or abuse to have emotional baggage. Perhaps you grew up in what most would consider an ideal family environment. You mother was a stay-at-home mom and your dad went off to work every day. You had  siblings and the family went to church at least three times a week. By all accounts, you had a great childhood … and you did. But that perfection may have spilled over into you adult life and you have discovered that your expectations for relationships are far too high. Why?  You parents never allowed you and your siblings to see any conflict between them, so you grew up with an ideal that in a perfect relationship, there shouldn’t be any conflicts or disagreements. Not so.

You would be hard pressed to not know someone in your life that has experienced some emotional or even physical trauma during their formative years. Whether it involved the death of parent, a nasty divorce, physical abuse or severe emotional abuse, someone that we work with, go to school with or even live with has lived through something traumatic. The difference is how these individuals have dealt with the emotional baggage that comes along with the trauma.

HWPL/IWPG Peace Ceremony Launches Global Cessation of War Drive

    in Women

When people have disagreements, but have agreed prior to the disagreement that physical violence is not an option, they choose to talk and reason with each other. (Such as a husband and wife in an argument.) In other cases, however, some people may approach disagreements with the attitude "I know how to settle this, I'll just go and get my gun and shoot you!" This can be seen on the street level with gangs and on the international level with governments. It's the same attitude, and it leads to shooting and death as a way to solve disagreements. It has to stop. The Heavenly World Peace Culture of Light (HWPL) and the International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) have launched a global drive for peace by getting heads of governments to sign peace agreements stating that they are willing to make war illegal, and therefore not an option to solving disagreements. HWPL/IWPG has had tremendous success with national leadership. Many heads of nations have signed the agreement. Can this same strategy be used to stop violence between "street nations" aka "gangs"? In a special Peace Ceremony to be held May 20 at the AMC Center on  4421 S, State at 3:30pm, followed by a Peace Walk through the community at 5:00pm, residents will join elected officials, community leaders and activists in urging a written commitment to ending the violence.
