From the National Domestic Hotline, it states On average, 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States — more than 12 million women and men over the course of a year. Nearly 3 in 10 women (29%) and 1 in 10 men (10%) in the US have experienced rape, physical violence and/or stalking by a partner and report a related impact on their functioning. 1 in 4 women (24.3%) and 1 in 7 men (13.8%) aged 18 and older in the United States have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
Those are just a few of the statistics on domestic violence, we are pleased to have Laura Cowan, tell her story, and inform us on what she is doing. 347-205-9366 - We are THE JKN. The Jay King Network
Selma was an unforgettable event in our lives, whether we knew someone that was there, or just remembering, like the President did last week with Congressman John Lewis. There are a lot of things that have happened in our country that were mind boggling, and baffling. All the killing. Can't say any was not needed, I can't be the judge, but Aaron Anderson is back on the scene, Lambert Davis and Saphyr Blue have a little tete-la-tete, (I hope that's how you say it) and the show is a reBroadcast from last week. It was very interesting, and for those of you who missed it, well here's your chance to check it out - THE COOL CRITICS, baby. We Are On!
What makes police officers and the government powerless? When the American people know their rights!
Police officers don't like to hear these words:
"Am I free to go?"
"I don't consent to a search."
"I'm going to remain silent."
You have rights during a traffic stop or any police encounter. Learn what your rights are and use them before you loose them!
1. Safety - When being pulled over pull over to a safe place, turn off your ignition, stay in the car and keep your hands on the steering wheel. At night turn on the interior light. Keep your license, registration and proof of insurance close by like in your "sun visor."
Immediately roll your window down all the way. Not half way, not an inch so you can speak through the crack. All the way. Among other things, it will show that you have nothing to hide.
Be courteous, stay calm, smile and don't complain. Show respect and say things like "sir and no sir." Never bad-mouth a police officer, stay in control of your words, body language and your emotions. Keep your hands where the police officer can see them. Never touch a police officer and never run away!
Was sup, I am Jimmie “Young Soul” Webster. I am 1/2 of the group Bad Guy Gang (BGG). I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters. I got into music to release frustration and anger. I had found out that I could sing when I was at school goofing off making fun of somebody. My favorite genre of music is music with soul in it, such as R&B and Gospel. Nobody inspired me to do music when I realized I can sing I just start doing it I know I can dance but my music is poetry so what better thing can I do. Living in the city I live it its more bad things than the good things so I set out to make something positive about me, the group, and my city. I feel the modern day music now a day is fake unreal not touching like the music back in day it’s just a hustle the artists now a days are putting up a front instead of being who they really are. My dream collab would be August Alsina, but I would feature with anybody. My message in music is everybody does not have the same story, it’s kind of alike but it’s not the same, everybody have a song but it is how you sing your song. In five years, I'm trying to have five albums with the group, have our name more than what it is, have music that the elderly and the young people can listen to together and it speaks to both, and I would like the venture off and do a few solo projects.

Born April 8th, 1983 in Hayti, Missouri, Khatib had the normal, small town country living. Making due with what he had made him appreciate things at a young age. "I didn't have the best or much but whatever it was meant the world to me," recalls the lyrically gifted emcee. Growing up in the shadow of his older brother, Khatib participated in sports. Even though he was fairly talented in them, he felt athletics wasn't his calling. "That was my older brother's thing, my mom had me doing it because he did it" says Khatib. Dealing with feeling neglected from riffs between his parents, a young Khatib turned to music as an escape. The poetic satire of the artists only intrigued the young lad. It wasn't until the infamous butt whooping Khatib received for saying Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Doggystyle" album cover was going to be him, that he knew what his career path would be.
