The multi billion dollar industry of the VA with Spencer Marshall

    in Military

the relationship between the VA and many of the university medical centers that are in bed with them,  we will touch on the well over 300,000 veterans that were exposed to Agent Orange who dies when the VA refused to acknowledge the well known cancer precurosors that exposure spawned nor the ishemic heart conditions. we will take a stroll down memory lane and recall the report McDonald delivered to congress early last year in which he declared that more veterans die of suicide who are not involved in VA care than of those who are and the report by NBC news 6 weeks later that detailed how 80% of the veterans they surveyed who had attempted suicide had in fact been "treated" by the VA in the 30 days leading up to their lest attempt.

We will cover the THOUSANDS of TBI medical incident reports that the DoD removed from the records of the people who suffered even severe TBI throughout the 60s, 70s, and 80s who were kept in service AND the new technology that can time stamp those injuries today! Ialso know what happpened to those records too and where they might be located providing they were not destroyed follwing the VA's refusal to take custody of them in 2014.

And the fact that chronic homelessness is well known symptom of post concussion syndrome.

We Will speak of McDonalds desire to limit the evidence submission period. This is of course is the direct result of the information age allowing more evidence to be collected at a faster rate then ever before. So I guess he wants to limit the time frame of that to something under the DECADES it can take to get a LEGITIMATE claim approved right?

    Price/Quality Transparency & Member Engagement

    in Business

On this week's show, hosts Ron Bachman and Doug Field talk with special guests from HealthEngine and Colibrium.

The first guest is Jonathan Weiss, the founder and CEO of HealthEngine. Today, we’ll talk about how to turn the myth of health care consumerism into reality. Consumers need effective tools in order to be savvy health care consumers, and they need to work in partnership with their physicians since the patient/doctor relationship is sacred. HealthEngine offers such a solution. The HealthEngine Marketplace Platform – available to consumers, employers, physicians and facilities at no charge – gives consumers access to quality and pricing information for 1.2 million health care providers in the U.S. In this interview, Jonathan and the hosts discuss how to empower physicians with tools to enable consumers to access and choose high-quality care at a lower cost.

The second guest is Mark Poling, co-founder and CEO of Colibrium, a company that delivers integrated software solutions designed specifically for the health insurance industry. Historically health insurers built relationships with their brokers, depending on them to build relationships with their members. Once a member, the health insurer managed the member’s claims. Many health insurers only interact with five to 10 percent of their members beyond required regulatory communications, while potentially having the most powerful information about a person, their health and well-being. Health insurers have the data and knowledge to build deep and trusted relationships with their members, but struggle with where and how to start. In this segment, Mark and the hosts discuss the importance of knowing your consumers in today’s consumer-driven environment.

KELLY O'CONNELL AM 1450: Dona Ana County Battle

    in Politics

Much like the larger national political struggle, there is a battle raging for the soul of Dona Ana County & related Democrat Party. Sheriff Enrique Kiki Vigil ran on a platform of cleaning up corruption. Little did Billy “Golden Earing” Garrett and Wayne “Rhode Scholar” Handcock realize that the County Commission would be straight in his bulls-eye. And yet they dismissed and failed to take seriously Kiki at their peril.

Kiki has repeatedly poked the County Commissioners in the eye over disagreements over their style. Kiki complained about lack of funding for the sheriff’s office, freedom of speech in meetings, misleading he and staff and the public over budget proposals, control of Dona Ana Correctional after jailer’s Chris Barella’s arrest, and now over suspending his staff because of complaints.

Kiki has fought back with what he claims is the only tool left in his arsenal -- the court system -- both state and federal. He first filed a Federal case claiming the County Commision and Golden Earing Garrett repressed his first amendment rights to free expression.

The tit-for-tat came to a head when Kiki arrested diminutive jailer Chris Barela over embezzlement and bringing a rifle into the jail. Kiki then took over the jail, which lasted about 3 hours. Ready to pounce on Kiki was the County manager Julia Junkyard Brown and attorney Nelson Goodin who filed a restraining order with Judge Arrietta with an attached emergency hearing. A defiant and transparently aggravated Julia Brown then delivered the coup de grace on live TV, slamming the TRO down on a live mic in front of a startled KIKI. Then she did the diva walk off shuffle.

More occured when Kiki decided to strike back again...

5 Ways to Save On Your Homeowners Insurance

    in Motivation

    Save on Homeowners Insurance

    1.  Raise your deductible- the lower your deductible the higher your premium

Example: You had a fire in your home and the estimate for renovation is $15,000.00 and your deductible is $500 the insurance company would send you a check for $14,500.00

    2. Bundle your insurances-like auto, home and life that may give you up to 15% discount

    3.  Ask for discount- Example: living near fire station, security system, deadbolt locks, history of being claims free, home renovations (new wiring, sensors that detect gas and water leaks and not smoking)

    4.  Shop around on a regular basis-sometimes staying with your current company gives loyalty rewards (insurancequotes.com and netquotes.com)

    5. A high credit score

Shalom Ladies, welcome back. Tonight we are looking into the Origins of a Holiday that claims to be filled with love but like Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving Valentines Day is rooted in paganism.

Faces of 5-Year-Old Black Boys Appears to Trigger Thoughts of Guns and Violence

    in News

According to a study conducted by researchers at the University of Iowa, racial stereotypes affect black boys as young as five years old.

White participants in the study were more likely to view a toy as a weapon if it was associated with black boys, reports The Daily Mail.  Those who participated in the study were less likely to view a toy as a weapon if it were associated with a white boy.

Seeing the face of a black boy was enough for the white students in the study to misidentify the toy as a weapon.

Lead researcher, Dr. Andrew Todd, said this study shows how people who don’t view themselves as racist can still react with unconscious bias.

“Our findings suggest that, although young children are typically viewed as harmless and innocent, seeing faces of five-year-old Black boys appears to trigger thoughts of guns and violence,” Dr Todd said.

“One of the most pernicious stereotypes of Black Americans, particularly black men, is that they are hostile and violent,” he explained.

“So pervasive are these threat-related associations that they can shape even low-level aspects of social cognition.”

The white college students were shown images of black five-year-olds and white five-year-olds. Then they were shown a second image which they were told to identify as quickly as possible. Participants recognized guns quicker after seeing images of black boys. They were also quicker to mistake toys for guns after viewing images of black boys.
