Donald Trump Delivers Foreign Policy Speech

    in Politics

I will view as president the world through the clear lens of American interests. I will be America’s greatest defender and most loyal champion. We will not apologize for becoming successful again, but will instead embrace the unique heritage that makes us who we are.The world is most peaceful and most prosperous when America is strongest. America will continue and continue forever to play the role of peacemaker. We will always help save lives and indeed humanity itself, but to play the role, we must make America strong again. And always — always, always, we must make, and we have to look at it from every angle, and we have no choice, we must make America respected again. We must make America truly wealthy again. And we must — we have to and we will make America great again. And if we do that — and if we do that, perhaps this century can be the most peaceful and prosperous the world has ever, ever known.

Former Senior Policy Advisor at US Dept. of Education Karen Gross

    in Education

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Former Senior Policy Advisor at US Dept. of Education Karen Gross.

Karen Gross has taught and continues to teach across the educational pipeline.  In spring 2016, she will be teaching at Bennington College in Vermont.  She writes, consults and advises on how to improve student success and has a forthcoming book from Columbia University Teachers College Press titled Shoulders to Lean On (Publication date: 2016) on this very topic.  A former college president and Senior Advisor to the U.S. Department of Education, she currently serves as Senior Counsel to Widmeyer Communications, a Finn Partners Company, and as an Affiliate to the Penn Center for MSI’s at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. She blogs/writes for many education outlets including Huff Po, WPo, InsideHigherEd, Unplugged, DiverseEducation, Evollution, NAIS, and CollegeAD.

Karen is proud that two high school seniors at the Emma Willard School have so ably illustrated the Lady Lucy story.  The book and the process of its creation provide a concrete example of the kind of deep collaboration that can occur in education, where the teacher is a learner, and the learners are teachers.  The illustrations, led by Lindsey Slaughter, a gifted art teacher, have made Lady Lucy and the story come alive.  The author and the two illustrators and their teacher see Lady Lucy as a symbol of the power of the possible that rests within all of us.

Based on the true life of Lady Lucy Duff-Gordon, a leading 19th century fashion designer and survivor of the Titanic, Lady Lucy’s Quest brings vigor to the spirit of young girls everywhere. The illustrations contributed by high school students Ji Woo Jasmine Shin and So Young Jang, also shed light on the importance of empowering female youth.

Obama's Foreign Policy, Israel Caught in the Crosshairs.

    in Current Events

Not since the times of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States have we seen such tension in the world. Why? Cause the Obama admnistration has shown no leadership, no direction for allies to even think we are on their side any longer. Why? Cause this administration has an agenda and plays the PC games, all in effect to gain affection from other countries in the world. In reality, the exact opposite is happening. Our allies do not know what we stand for any longer and do not trust the US. This had led to events like the rise of Extreme Islamic Terrorism and ISIS. North Korea claiming that they are going to launch atomic warheads onto American cities. China building strategic military bases in the China Sea. Russia stepping up their game with armed forces and equipment and Putin rattling their war voice. Not since the Jimmy Carter administration has the military been torn apart and disassembled so. John and Doug are going to discuss the who, what, when. where, and why this is going on. BONUS, another Super Tuesday taking place and we will report when results as they come in on the elections. Two HUGE states are in play and are winner takes all, Ohio and Florida. Tune in Tuesday, 7pm est.

Foreign Policy and the Presidential Election - Is it an important consideration?

    in Current Events

Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Israel, are all crucial nations for the stability of the Mid-East.  But there is ISIS.  The candidates for our next President have expressed their viewpoints on these countries and about the terrorist organization ISIS.  What are the fundamentals of their foreign policy?  What do they say they would do about ISIS and the crisis in Middle East?  Are their opinions and policy statements important?  Are they realistic?  Will the implementation of their policies lead to World War 3 or to a lasting peace in the world?

Dr. Frederick Schoenfeld looks at these questions, asking if they are realistic from both an domestic political and geo-political standpoint.  Could the policies as expressed by the candidates be implemented by the Executive or must there by cooperation from the House and Senate?  What about our allies?  The United Nations?  Russia?  China?

Tune in to hear the discussion.
