    Urban E xpression in Jesus

    in Poetry

    1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
    2     Worship the Lord with gladness;
        come before him with joyful songs.
    3 Know that the Lord is God.
        It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
        we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

    4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
        and his courts with praise;" (Psalm 100:1-4)

    The Black Issue with Dad. Urban Therapy with Sun #168

    in Lifestyle

    The issue of the Black father has been going on for generations and unfortunately in a negative way.

    Whether we are talking about the absentee father, the deadbeat dad, the abusive father, the man that never really came around, the man that had all those kids, the man that wouldn't marry my mom, the man that we never met or the one that we can't seem to get it together with, the Black father is a polarizing figure. He commands a lot of attention for a man that so many people say hardly exists in our lives.

    The issues with fathers is not exclusive to Black people. Other races and ethnic groups have had similar issues with fathers but their issues seem to have dealt more with abusive or neglectful fathers inside the home. Many Black people have the opposite experience.

    This is not a general show concerning fathers though. This show will focus on personal issues that people have had in the Black family with their fathers.

    What has been your experience concerning your dad? Was he there? Was he absent? Have you been mad at him most of your life or have you been looking for him most of your life?

    Has someone else that is not been your biological dad been your dad all your life? How did that turn out?

    Have you been taught to feel like a father is not as important in your life as a mother is?

    What about people who have sons? Do we secretly fear that our sons won't be there for their children if they grew up without a dad? Do we try to prevent that from happening or do we let the chips fall where they may?

    What can be done to remedy the situation of the Black father in relation to the child, the family and the community?

    Is Morton Morelli, the Author, Sardine Packing?

    in Writing

    Note Time Zone Change: 15:00 (3:00 pm) UK, 11:00 am AST, 10:00 am EST, 9:00 am CST, 8:00 am MST, and 7:00 am PST

    Morton Morelli, the author of “Sardine Packing”, a complex relationship thriller that he launched in December 2015. It is available now on Amazon in paperback and Kindle.

    “Sardine Packing” is set in World War II. “Sardine Packing” is the deplorable term the Nazi's gave to the mass graves where they shot Jews, to fall like Sardines in a can. The camp is the first death camp where Jews are to be transported and then executed. Himmler, who had the idea in the first place, visits the camp to meet Hitler to put his final solution in practice.

    Morton set out to show a beautiful place involved in the War. Old footage of the War always looks bleak, but Europe was still very beautiful. He set the scene to highlight this as he liked the contrast between the beauty and the horror of war. He also showed the financial impact of the proposed slaughter of some 5 million Jews.

    Hans is a good guy, and soon comes to realize that people are the same no matter what creed they may be. A relationship forms with him, and Sophie, and he intends to help her escape.

    Currently working on “Sardine Packing 2”, the sequel, Morton has givien it a working title of “The Gathering”. In due course he will be posting sample chapters on his website. Stay in touch.

    Gentrification In Urban American Communities~ Hosted by Buck Wylam and Rick Moon

    Gen·tri·fi·ca·tion

    NOUN

    1.

    The buying and renovation of houses and stores in deteriorated urban neighborhoods by upper- or middle-income families or individuals, thus improving property values but often displacing low-income families and small

    It appears that changes are going on in neighborhoods known as “The Ghetto’ in America. What used to be classified as so-called Black neighborhoods are becoming open season to a new class of more affluent residents who move in.  A new development of the property comes and usually, it is accompanied by a severe increase in housing prices which could displace the neighborhood’s longtime residents. This is called gentrification and it follows a long practice of invaders to the American lands.
